FTS,
I'm in total agreement with you. I think white is a risky color, and to carry on blue and Black another year seems a bit boring. Hey what are the Europeans getting lord knows they know bad colors, what was that color they have this year???

quote:Well,The good news about that white one is you won't have to paint it white ALL over before you spray on the 10R GREEN!!!!!! It already has a good base coat for the green to lay over... It will make a nice BRIGHT green
...Ti Green woulda' been a good one instead of peralwhite with flames...

I got a survey from Kawasaki a month or 2 ago about the 14. It's frustrating they don't have a section for comments. I was able to convey that we want a Kawi Green ZX-14 with no low end restriction. Not that it did any good. It seems so easy to get the pulse of what customers want and deliver. I wonder why they don't?
People do, however, need to be pushed and challenged by design. Take the ZX-14 as an example. Click on one of the first few pages of this forum and read the reaction to the styling of the 14. Most of the people commenting that they hated it, now own one. It is somewhat of an oddity in that it looks far better in real life than ANY photo I have seen. I get comments constantly on how beautiful the ZX-14 is styled. More people express surprise that it looks so good in person, and that based on the photos, they did not like it.
The bike designers need to get some solid grounding in good design, coupled with market desires and a dose of challenge, to come up with compelling new designs that look and perform good.

Yeh I did.........and the reflector is behind the forkleg, and cheesey ninja sticker is gone from the tailpiece. KAWASAKI is now on the tank cover and NINJA is up front on the fairing. The wheels forks and calipers all look way better too. All in all I would say they cleaned it up nicely.......... ( except the ghetto white one....... )

At first I though it was a JOKE and then it sunk in that Kawasaki has LOST IT'S DAMN MIND! I know Helen Keller picked those colors didn't she???

Look at te new Suzuki 1k......at least 5 different colors and everyone looks great!!! NOT one ugly mutter fucker in the bunch..... Kawasaki can't seem to offer three colors without at least one of the three being a complete JOKE and an eye sore to man kind! That white POS couldn't have been a bigger joke if it had fringe hanging off the bar weights.

That white color scheme is not so bad...At leasy they painted the whole fairing and got rid of those brown rims and forks!!!...The flames are easily removed and paint the grill black or white!!!
Sooo, what mechanical changes did they make to the 2007 ZX14???

Damn.......... thank god I know how to paint. The only good I see is they got the logo's in the right place now and did away with the shit brown accent color, thats it! If they had to make a "custom" version, they should have done black with flames, NOT white. In doing that they gave us there direction they intent to go with this bike. I still cant believe it has been a year and nobody has painted one "right" with the Kawi green and correct logo's. I will give a 20% discount to the first one I do just to show Kaw how its done.

I looked at the blue '14 for awhile. Like most, I'm not a fan of the '06 with the bronze accent colour, but I think black rims would look better than the grey/silver wheels on the '07. The wheels don't have enough contrast with the blue paint. I'm not sure if I like the whole fairing being blue along with the belly fairing in front of the rear wheel..............almost too much blue................not as tough looking? Not sure if it is an improvement or not. I would have to see one in person.
I don't mind the new badging placement, except I kind of like the fact the '06 has no badging on the tank, looks cleaner. I like the Ninja logo on the fairing in place of the current raised Kawaskai lettering on the '06. I guess they have to put the Kawaski logo some place! Lettering on the tail looks a little cleaner as well. Maybe the a smaller Kawaski logo on the tail piece with the ZX-14 would have been an option so they could have kept the tank completely clean as the '06's are.
As far as the white option.................................there should be great deals on left over '07's with this colour option about this time next year! All I can say is YIKES! Be interesting who would actually choose the white colour combo.
I would be more excited about the '07 '14 if it had an adjustable mapping option like the '07 Suzuki GSXR 1000!
