Gen 3 install exhaust leak???
Install went pretty smoothly, my problem is I believe I have a exhaust leak. After the great test ride I pull into the garage and let it run so I can adjust the idle (it had dropped from 1100 pre install to 900 post install) and I notice a sound like exhaust noise coming from the collector area, either midpipe or header connection. It was too hot to check so I will let it cool and try to address in the morning.
I'm guessin that is where the noise is from, my flanges were torqued to 9 ft-lbs the headers went on nicely so I'm assuming that is good and I used the Ultra Copper. We will see tomorrow, I hope I don't have to restart from the beginning......
I placed the flanges and torqued to spec then installed the headers with the collector attached, then removed the collector to adjust the headers to clear the filter, reinstalled the collector (I had oil filter clearance) then the midpipe and finally the can. I thought I made sure that I had each pipe on fully before connecting the next.
Any thoughts or suggestions........I new it was going to easy.....

Rodanst6,
Believe it or not...most leaks are caused by TOO MUCH Ultra copper!
If the system still leaks after complete cool down, use a spray bottle of Windex or soapy water to check the joints for leaks (bubbles). If you can spot a leak, try to clean the area free of dried Ultra Copper and reassemble with a VERY thin layer of U.C.
Note: these are slip together systems without seals at each joint. They are not "sealed" per say because these is no need to seal something with a 2 ΒΌ" hole at the end!
But, they are designed to seal enough to not make any noise from the connections.
I don't even use Ultra Copper on most installs because we switch pipes so much during testing and I don't remember the last time I had a leak.
BUT- you can bet you're a*s if I told guys not to use it.....we would have leak reports of Titanic proportions. (Pun intended)
Let me know if you still need help.

Brock,
Thanks for the reply, you are probably right. The header to engine connection seems good, I think I have a small leak where the header pipes meet the collector (I did not follow instructions and used UC on this joint) I bet that is where it is!!!! I'll use the soapy water to check.
By the way what a difference in power between the Gen 3 and my old slip ons! TRE map is spot on no hesitation anywhere in the RPM range.

Bingo! Too much UC on the collector/header joint. Cleaned it all out and didn't use any on the reinstall, no problems, running great! Thanks.

Brock, just wanted to say thank you, I took my bike to RPM cycle in Eldorado Arkansas a few weeks ago to get my nitrous kit installed and to have a nitrous map made for my 14 (I was told by I think it was EJ that you guys no longer provide map support for Dry nitrous kits... to bad I would rather have your map) Jason at RPM told he would "clean up" the map you sent me for free since I was getting the nitrous and everything done. Well what do ya know first dyno pull the A/F is PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! looks like someone drew a line with a ruler needless to say jason was SHOCKED but anyway thanks a million for the great customer service... P.s when do we get a Diary chapter 3 or have you given up on the 14 LOL
