Rickey's lock up is ok as there is a difference in the multi stage & single stage he and others are using. A multi stage when set up properly can act very much like a slider would.

I seen on MTC web sight there was a 2 stage and a multi stage...which is he using? I thought the rules was no slider and multi stage clutches period. Would'nt that be anything but a stock clutch or am I trying to plug a loop hole here?

A lock up is a must with bikes capable of going mid-low 8s and 7s...
They use 2 stage lock ups...

Yea I seen that, but according to the rules Halvefast posted no slider or multi stage clutches allowed. Not trying to bust anybody out...just thought there would be some sort of tech/rules thing they go thru for prostar. I'm sure they do but, you would think somebody would catch that...

When it comes to drag racing there is no low budget racing unless you stick to bracket racing.

So what is the differeance between a 2 stage and a multi stage? I understand a multi stage has more stages to act more like a slipper but I figured "multi" means more than 1. Just trying to figure this out when I put my lock-up on my bike.

Actually Nuke I could care less. I don't race under those rules HA HA. I said "I thought" but mistyped the square root of the next portion of the incrypted message. Please No excuse my misinformation and try not to hold it against me.

edit:
i guess the weight difference is probably not that much after all...

Wow, depending on where the weight is located from rotational center, on average it takes 3 times or more energy to move rotating mass than stationary mass,
13 lbs each would be like 39 lbs on the frame, each! or 78 lbs total!
This would equate to about 20 RWHP, better handling, and better suspension control.
It would make the bike feel like a completely different machine!
Thats a huge difference, are you sure that was correct?
Are the comparisons apples to apples?
sprokets rotors brgs installed , no tire?

Sorry, out at the 4 wheel drive jamboree this weekend in Indy!! I have a digital postal scale that's good to 1oz. That was just pulling the tire assembly off the bikes and weighing them. That was the weight difference for just the back wheel, if i have to guess i would say you could probaly drop another 5-10 for the front wheel. The stock wheels are super heavy, can't wait to get me a new set.

Ok , I just weighed my spare rear wheel.....
30.5 lbs with bald tire and bearings, no sproket , no damper assembly, no rotor.
Does the gsxr have aluminum sproket ?
Does the Gsxr have a damper?
The biggest difference handling and accelleration wise would be any difference on the outer circumference of the wheel, and much less noticable near the axle.
