The ZX14 in South Africa!
This one did have a SLider Clutch that Fish needed a few days ago and some other nice Goodies!!

The bike ran mid 9's at 7,000 feet and the rider was only using "1" Hand! I also noticed the lack of butterflies on thatShaft

Smokin -- how did you see that he had no left hand? What am I missing here? Also, if he was running NOS, why only mid 9's?

in vinces thread about bear racing and returning home from south africa, he mentioned bears son as having only one hand, and the primary jockey just getting out of the hospital for a gunshot wound to the gut... to that, i commented "south africa sounds like a pretty rough place". i wonder how the bikes would fair in the US? lots of factors which would dramatically change performance... aptmospheric conditions especially (which n2o is tempermental with)
anyhow, that looks like an interesting paint scheme too...... would love to read more details.

HEY Hey! I understood about the Hand because I "DO" Have a way of making Jokes and you just never know. I know I took no offense and I am sure he would not either. Understand that Barry Henson's Turbo Busa has a Best time period with the Best rider in the Country Period of 8.13 so the time is between .5 to .75 Slower there and that us using a 7 inch slick and VHT on the track.
That was also the Absolute first time the bike has ever been riden down the track (Well at the track because Pierre rode it the first time to dial in the clutches. If the 2000 ZX12 can run an 8.40 (Remember it is also a 1400 CC engine he made, then the 14 which is "Smaller" Should get close! Yes I have a few more pictures.
Crowd Diversity!!
Understand that the difference between the haves and have nts is HUGE over there. the Lowly paid workers make about 2 to 3 $$ per day and the Higher paid ones make 12 to 15 $$ per day and work 7 days a week 12 hour shifts. Does not leave much time or money for this kind of a thing. I asked about giving everyone a day off and the answer was they will get another job to make more money (Usually at a lower pay scale than I have) and I lose a day of production. There is also no public transportation either! Everyone rides in Vans or Bakkies (Prounced Buckies) which are small Pick Up trucks like a Toyota. Yes it was Tarlton and it was on a Wednesday (A National Holiday called "Woman's Day") and I saw many Blacks there and some "Coloreds" Mostly from Cape town. Peggy and I were the only couple like that I saw anywhere while I was there but "I" Never felt anything that made my sensors show an alert! I was treated like lost Family by just about everyone every where I went!

SA is great, not quite how it was described above, but we all have our misconceptions. Lets rather leave politics to the other forums and focus on the reason why we all here, the 14. Hope you enjoyed your stay here.

Never even considered that it was not GREAT for me. Not Politics to me that the Life Style is too different for us to know or understand on our own. I never knew that anyone worked 12 hour shifts coming from the USA. Never knew anyone worked 7 day weeks either? Hard to imagine the Pay scale for some people even when you see it in print.
The thing about Cape Town has a lot more to it than I stated. Now the rest of the story. There was a Young man in the pits wearing Black Duct Taped Pants! Knowing that they were not leather, my question to myself was who was he fooling? Well it seems like he was a Colored (Mix Race) from Cape Town that had driven all that way to race and was told he could not race because he did not have leather pants. DO to a few people protested that he should be allowed to race and then they Duct Taped his pants to meet the requirement and was allowed to race (No one offered the Loan of their Pants which was part of the problem and he was the only Racer that was Black of Mixed that I saw there). It was Dudley from Biker Lifestyle Magazine that led the charge and helped him to Race. Not a Bad or Good thing but something you have to notice!
On the other side of the Coin there were also a few women racing and one on a Busa. The Other one was Pierre's Daughter Maurene who on a ZX10 was running 10. 40's all day long.
