Brock's sidewinder install

The smoke see and the backfire you hear are from the WD40 I used to slide the pipes together. It sounds kinda raspy because the plastic bag that protects the baffel material hasn't melted yet, it should mellow with time. Going to the track tonight to see what I can do with it.

NICE !!!
Nothing like the sound of a Megaphone!
The only thing better sounding than a Megaphone is an Open Megaphone

I always wear ear plugs when I ride.
Ran it last night, the air wasn't very good, and neither was I. Best was 9.91 at 141. That's it!!! I expected the mph to go up a little, but nope. Everybody was off about 3 o 4 mph because of the air. Only got 4 passes, spun on one. 60's were 1.60's.
And the airshifter solonoid wouldn't work right off the trailer. So I had to foot shift. Not sure what happened to the airshifter, but its not passing air from the solonoid to the shifter, maybe a loose wire. Man, you gotta tie everything down when you trailer in Louisiana, roads are so fricking rough.
Gonna work on the bike today, and try to run at the local goat farm track tomorrow. There also a test N tune on Tuesday at the nice track, so I'll go up there and run the piss out of it.

Bike was easy to launch, and no more wheelie prone that before with flies in. I noticed it pulled harder with the flies out, but the 330's times were the same as with the flies in. Go figure.

I'm gonnna put the stiffer clutch springs in, even though I'm not slipping, and fix the airhifter, more later.

No more right turns. Might make one hell of a flat tracker though

There's actually plenty of clearance on the right for most right hand turns. The exit off the dragstrip was too the right, so last night I deliberately leaned it over pretty far getting off the track and it didn't scrap. Basically, if you scrape the little knob on the bottom of the right foot peg, you'll scrape the pipe. But who the hell looks at the bottome of a pipe anyways

are you saying the peg feeler will drag first?
Looks good.
Can you tell me if the header spiggots are tapered or large bore right from the head?

The feelers will drap about the same time as the exhaust.
The header pipes slip into the spigots which are mounted to the head, so no.
I'm not sure about all the exhaust magic anymore. Used to be that you mounted the largest diameter head pipe that would fit, and call it good. I think there's a little more involved now.
Sitll working with some different maps, and haven't raced the bike in 2 months, so its like learning to re-launch all over again.

Update

I finally cut out the lower fairing and re-installed, what a PITA. I took out the air filter, as Brock said that's the way to go for drag racing. I used to run my pro-street bike with just velocity stacks on the carbs so I'm not worried bout dust and stuff getting in the engine. I'll be reboaring and replating the cylinder well before I notice any problems from running without the filter. The vid I made today is with the baffel removed. This thing is so loud it will set off car alarms, cause seizures in the elderly, and cause small children to wet themselves. I had ear plugs in when I ran it in my garage. I'm not sure if it will make anymore power without the baffle, I'm waiting for Brock to get back ahold of me.

yes, I have Brocks s meg, and it is 1 1/8 about 3 " out of the header up to 1 1/4 on the spigot, then the rest of the header slips on to the 1/14 tubing, swedged slip fit.
I was wondering if he made them sidewinders 1 1/4 right at the flanges...
got plans to go big bore and stroked so if the 1 1/4 spigots are available I would try a set and see how they compare with more displacement.

No clue. I didn't think to measure it. Ask Brock, he'll know.
