YES on one dyno. On the one when I did my custom map, it was 173 - 176. I don't know how to tell what is full of shit and what isn't. These were what I got back. I posted the lesser of the two as it was from a reputable dealership with a "Racing" pedigree. You can call me a liar, but I only post what I am told and see. This website is to grow by learning from others. If I post lies, it helps nobody.
Today I raced a Busa and lost. I had to let someone 60 pounds lighter (equal to the Busa rider) race my bike to see "actual" numbers. I don't like people racing for me, but 60 pounds, is alot of weight and I wanted to know the true numbers.
If I posted the 190 numbers, I don't know that I believe those myself.

Were there any mod's or adjustments between the 2 visits? Did you change the tires between?

Regarding your post above -- did you post the top sped right? Was it 168 or 186? I would think 168 is low, even taking your sprockets into account...not that it matters, since most of us don't live at those speesd anyway and I'm sure the power gains across the band are very substantial, just curious though..

EDIT: Just saw your response to Bentley...was this on 2 different Dyno's? That would explain a big part of it too...also, if one was reading STD and the other was SAE...there's 6-7 ponies there too.

My custom mapped Bruce made 173 - 176 RWHP on the Dyno on the first visit. It ran 190 -192 on the second. I posted the lesser of the two seeing how this seemed more accurate. I don't give a shit what you think "Must Be True". I don't own a dyno, nor do I claim to be an expert at them. I paid the money, and then I post the numbers.

I don't know if this is directed at me, but YOUR claims seem reasonable (not the 192 - look at what Brock had to do to get to that level).
Assume stock 169 hp + 6 hp for the slipons = 175 hp. Reasonable. Believable .

I was questioning the claims of the manufacturer of the slipons who showed dyno graphs claiming more hp for the slipons than for a FULL MUZZY. Not saying that it's impossible, just never have seen it happen on any bike....................

How much did the tuner weigh? Heavier people get more hp on the dyno............

Well if thats true then I'm guessing the one that got in the 190hp range is about 500lbs or so.

My TiForce slipons were worth 10hp. Was pretty happy with that number. Torque was up a couple, maybe 3 lb/ft.

BTW, I had my 14 dynoed at an official "Power Commander Tuning Center."
I wanted to get a baseline bone stock with low miles.
The tech warned me that his dyno reads low. When my dyno was done, the numbers were low enough that I was disappointed at first - so low that I won't post the raw numbers to give the ZX-14 haters ammunition to quote.
However, when he pulled up a run for a Busa with full exhaust, pc, custom dyno-tune, and a couple of other mods, the Busa made 4 hp less than my bone stock 14!!!
As many have said, the dyno is a tuning tool, and comparisons between different dynos don't mean much.

600 lbs? That's probably why his rear tire got destroyed. :P

lucky - as a former djtc owner, you have got it nailed. It's just a tool, and you should always look at the overall curve and judge your results on the difference, not pay attention to the overall number. Nice to hear that. Most peeps are focused on the number at the peako fthe graph, not how the motor gets there.

Actual speed was 168. I kept having the limiter cut me off. I am assuming changing the 2 sprocket and reading false on the speedo maybe the prob? It could have also been the altitude. I don't know how high we were, but the Busa could only get in the 170's with only exhaust as a modification.

I forgot that you're running 16/42's so I guess you were hitting the rev (not speed) limiter and if the Busa was only getting to the 170's...he was probably also geared. Busa's almost always pull 186+...I never rode one with stock gearing that didn't. 16/42's are almost 10% higher reving than the stock gears. She would probably continue to pull if not for the rev limiter....anyway, thanks for sharing!

I had my totally stock 14 on the dyno this weekend at Road Atlanta. It did 158.2 HP/184.5 MPH! The limiter (you could see it) was kicking in @ 184.5. It's got 1300 miles on it. It's still PLENTY FAST for me!!!

Ok, I ran on a guys personal dyno and got 190 rwhp/ 120 ft pnds tq. What the fuck? Before I went on the Fulltilt ride, I went on a friends Dyno and he swore these numbers would be fact. Why does anyone pay for this shit if its so debatable? I didn't realize the craziness of this. I'll stick to the 173 numbers, thats 3 dynos in a week.
I had the first Dyno run reports looked at by a racing buddy of mine, and he said they looked good.

What do you look at? How do you know? This is a ripp-off!!!!

Htosado, I think your 173 is a pretty good number for slip-ons, I thought your 116ft lbs of TQ seemed a little high. Those dynos that are showing you 190 and 120 ftlbs of tq are being fed some happy pills. Look at all the tricks to Brocks bike with race gas and everything else he has done to it and he barely broke the 190's.

I am going to re-set my scanner tomorrow, and post the dyno for you to see and give an honest feedback. This is all a learning curve for me.

Calm down dude ...post it and we'll a take a look at it ...might be some merit in there. You could have a very strong motor...it does happen, not usually by that wide of a margin, but it does happen...maybe you have a ZX14.5

speakin of strong motors, raced a 05 R1 tonight.
If my 14 would have been stock, he would have been right beside or maybe pullin me.
His is totally stock, except for 1 tooth less on front.

My gearing is stock, pc3 smeg, and flies out.
I went back to the 17 tooth for distance riding and to see how much better the tires last .. LOL

Pulled him every time, and just kept pullin away.

fast bike though, all black too .... nice lookin bike.
He was surprised because he said he has raced everything out there, and has beaten stock gsxr 1000, zx10, and zx14's...
I think he has one of those freak motors makin more than most.

Nice guy and has the wheelie gene... wheelied for about 3 miles... no problem.

nice.
Busa, I just get upset at how much I spend on nothing. I am not a rich guy, and lately I'm financially strapped. I just like to get what I pay for, and what they promise.

You got everything you paid for, and good results too I'd say...bikes though, are a never ending money pit. Forget top speed; let it go and enjoy your canyon carving...unless you're prepared to go turbo or motor work...you won't get huge top speed and hard acceleration together. There will always be some compromise unless you spend loads of cash, something I gave up on long ago...

Litre bikes are very tough to pull on. I could swear my 10 pulls harder than my 14 from 6k up...probably doesn't, but sure feels like it does...my wife's R1...that's easy to beat with the 14 though. R1's are not 10r's or Gixxers in terms of speed and power...

THanks, I know your right. Sometimes I want it all, but realize the limitations. I have worked on several cars, I was a boat/yacht mechanic, but I just never worked on a sportbike to any depth. I love my bike, and it is great for everyday riding/racing. I lowered the gearing to make it launch my fat ass off the line to keep up with the lighter rider/bikes like the litres.

When bikers see this big fat front end on the 14 headin their way, you can smell the fear and respect in their blood. They all want to fuck with it because it's the new King of the Hill and they all want to see if they can kick it down the hill.

Fuck 'em all dude...ride on and ride it like ya stole it! Never mind them litre bikes...the odd one might catch ya...but more often than not, you'll beat him.
