Raptor14's Fairing Removal, Exhaust & PC Installation Instructions
Due to the large number of requests via e-mail or through this or other boards I have finally made a clickable link to my instructions for removing the fairing and installing an aftermarket exhaust and Powercommander. In this case, the exhaust system is the Gen3 StreetSmart 4-2-1 From Brock's Performance Products. However, most, if not all of the instructions should be applicable to other aftermarket systems. Please note the comments:
1. Step 11 discusses tightening the header flanges prior to assembly of the headers. After
discussing this with Brock, a better procedure is to leave the flange nuts loose until the
system is installed. Tighten afterwards. This allows for some movement of the flanges
during assembly. I had no problems with my method, but Brock's comment is an
improvement.
2. Step 11 does not specify a required torque for the header flange nuts. The torque should
not exceed 10 ft-lbf, which is not very tight. Again, this spec came from a later discussion
with Brock.
Glad this is proving to be useful to those looking to improve their bikes. Enjoy your 14!!

I'm guilty of telling everyone how helpful the directions were for me. Prolly resulted in one or 2 of those mails. Thanks again!

As much as zx14.net gets trashed, there is actually some good info out there. iflyphi provides a nice step-by-step write-up with pictures on removing the flies. You can see how he supported the tank. The link is provided below. I can never save the files from zx14.net with the SAVE command so I simply copy everything and paste it into MS Word.
