New ZX-14R on the way soon?

Forget all the other rumors and photoshops by Raptors and Rockets!
We've all been scammed by Kawasaki!!!
There is no touring bike coming in 2007 - it is already here!

The dream bike we bought actually IS the touring bike. It replaced the ZZR1200. After all, it's called a ZZR1400 in some countires. This is clue #1.

Clue # 2: There is NO "R" on the end of the name. No matter how many sites are selling parts for the 06 ZX-14R, there is no "R".

Clue # 3: It's only a 1352 cc motor, but they called it a 1400. Kawasaki always does this with the "lesser" bikes. The ZZR1200 and the ZRX1200R were only 1164 cc. The ZX-12R was at the full 1199 cc, as big as it could be without going over 1200.

Clue # 4: Many people complained that the 14 did not look like a sportbike, that the ZX-12R represented much better in the sportbike looks department. That's because we bought the touring bike, to get the bugs out of the new design.

Clue # 5: The 14 is heavier than the sportbike people wanted, and it was detuned to allow lesser riders to be able to handle it. The throttle bodies are too small (smaller than the "little motor" busa) and limit high rpm power, the secondaries limit low end torque, and the dual exhausts add weight.

2007 will bring THE KING - the ZX-14R at a full 1399 cc, with a 4-into-1, dry weight of 200 kg, with 200 HP at the wheel and it will run a verified 200 mph and 8 second quarters! It will look like a cross between the ZX-10 and the ZX-12R and it will be offered only in Kawasaki Green. A turbo will be offered as a dealer installed option.

Now..........................where is that stirring-the-pot smilie?

2007 Models

I don't think there will be a ZX14R for next year...

Confirmed models for next year:

1) Z1000 (photos already released to the press)
2) Versys 650 (photos already released to the press)
3) ZX6R
4) GTR1400 (Available in spring 2007)
5) Z750 (updated/facelift)

and maybe another 1 or 2 surprise models released in Jan-Feb 2007.

There will never be a ZX-14R.

GTR-1400? Maybe. Z1400? Maybe. ZX-14R? No.

And they will never paint it green, because then it would be eligible for their racer rewards program and they'd have to start paying out cash for every joe-bob who took his 14 to a drag strip and won.

1) That didn't stop Kawi from offering the 12 in green.
2) The racer rewards program is limited to certain events. Unless a drag event contingency is announced by Kawi, they don't have to pay anyway. Also, contingency payouts are not limited to stock colors. If you buy a black ZX10R and paint your race bodywork green you will still qualify.

OK, ya got me there!

Let me go ALL OUT for my predictions on the much-improved 08 ZX-14RR.

1. BNG (is it OK to use a Busa term?).
2. Dual cooling fans.

For '08 I would like to see traction control on the beast, slipper clutch, 20 pounds less weight and improved lean angle, better aerodynamics, and 1,000 less on the sticker price.

OK I woke up and am back in reality now

How about a digital speedo, no secondary flys, (3) selectable on the fly pre programed maps, and more underseat storage. While we're at it we may as well throw in a factory stabilizer.

Also after 2 years it's time new paint schemes altogether including the team green flavor for our race fans and minor cosmetic changes that will allow for stevewfl's improved aeros.

Only thing needs to be done to the 14 for '08 is some good paint schemes (no more "HOT WHEELS" flames please). Seriously i don't see the new busa being huge leaps and bounds over the 14 in power in stock trim and who knows after pipe and map. If the new busa has a soft cam, gains won't be fantastic. 14 looks to still have the edge in comfort. Have to wait and see but the 14 is a spot on bike as it is.
