Yes and no ... if all you zx14 makes is 100 hp it will last twice as long than at 200 hp .... so take your stock 163 rwhp and add a 40 shot of spray, if you use it alot like a 2 pound bottle a day you can cut engine life in half or more ..If you use it now and then, like a bottle ever 60 days i don't think you would lose any engine life ...Remember this only works if the engine is set up to run the spray , meaning it's mapped and not lean ... N20 can take a motor out in just 1 or 2 seconds if not set up right .. Rule of thumb on n20 don't add more than 25% of the stock out put (186hp) .. that would make a 40 shot safe for our zx14 ..

c'mon man, enjoy the bike and don't worry~!....you know we're all trading up in the next year or few when the next exciting 2 wheel product comes out!...
quote:I can't tell, did you actually cut out part of the seat?
Yes I cut out a pocket for the bottle to sit in - then used the rubber strap that was on
the emissions canister to hold it in. On final fit I removed the seat strap and reinstalled
the cowl. With the exception of the activation switch, the unit is 100% undetectable.

Also ... rite now the unit is set at a very soft 25 hp.
I plan to add Dynojets accellerater pump at which point I can richen the mixture
at 90% - 100% throttle and then try a larger N20 jet.

That accessory hub and map switch would be the hot set up for nitrous. No need to hook up to a computer to load a nitrous map.. I have the Yosh EMS setup like that on my 12R, works great..

Ahhhhh someone stole my idea lol I havnt heard about the accelerator pump for nitrous how does it work I have a 50 shot on my bike???
posted August 22, 2006 10:07 PM
The accelerator pump only gives it shot of fuel when you advance the throttle. Its not going to richen up the map after the initial squirt of fuel. And really as long as you make sure it gets sprayed over the inlet air temp sensor and dont get over zealous with the nitrous (40 hp) or so you should be fine..

It turned out real clean ........ If you dont know me ......... you dont know
We will hook up again soon, I enjoyed our 1st 14.com ride and am looking
forward to the next one. Im on vacation till 9-6-06 but im taking the family on
a cruise till net week.
Can you try and get a ride togather over the long weekend ? If so, post it up.

You can still use NOS on a turbo bike. Very small shot, say 20hp will cool the aircharge before it gets into the cylinders. Will actually make more than triple the rated NOS shot charge due to cooling. But you better know what your doing with fuel. Would recommend C16 or something like that, lots of work on the dyno, and a couple of spare 14 motors.
A 14 crate motor runs about 6 grand last time I checked. Almost the same price as a turbo kit. If your going to run fast, you gotta expect some problems down the road. I ran a shitload of NOS on my old drag bike and never hurt anything. Like a 100hp shot, with stock rods and pistons. But that was 1986 technology. These days the valve to piston clearance in much closer, and the rods are not nearly as stout.
BTW, the turbo bike, and Bob's NOS bike are different bikes. We should all thank Bob for all the tireless research and risk he is doing to give us these reports not only on the NOS bike, but also on the turbo bike. Bob appears to know what he's talking about, and might save somebody a bunch of money.
I have got to stop drinking so much coffee in the morning!!! Yea, 1:23pm for me is morning, I'm working nights right now.

Don't let the Nitrous bottle get away, it can hurt going in the wrong direction!
