Lowering Pros and Cons I am intrested in lowering my bike. I do have to carry my wife on the back from time to time. Is there going to be a problem if I lower it? If I can lower it what would be the recommended height and still be able to carry a passanger? I am 175lbs and my wife is 115lbs.

i would just get the adjustable lowering links and the straps for the front. This is what im going to do because of my racing bug. I wanted to also be able to ride anywhere with anyone on the back. So when not racing it will be back stock height.

I've got the Adjustable links, it takes me literally 15 min. to go from race set-up to street to go riding with the wife.
That includes removing the frt. strap and seat cowl as well as raise the rearend.

Schnitz has the turnbuckles, they are more expensive, but adjustment is a snap, and you dont have to take it apart change it. I put these on and lowered rear 1in measured floor to bottom of tail light. I then slipped the forks 1 in. I ride solo all the time. One thing is you have to be careful of is the oil pan is very low, and you can easily drag the drain plug on any speed bump or drop off. Drain plug is shrouded and its very easy to break the shroud, or even crack the drain when its lowered. If you lower same front and back handling will remain the same .......TB

True I smacked my oil drain bolt right through the pan lol. This was when it was stock. I was going about 1mile per hour leaving a parking lot. A 1 1/2" raise ( i measured it later that day I was pissed and wanted the store to pay for it lol. And when I pulled out a felt a clunk and was like what was that. I pulled out making a left up hill and the bike whips violently back and forth. It actually made my inner thighs sore as fuck the next day. I was like WTF just about to slide out and I gased it hard and she straightened out. I ride up the block thinking WTF is going on. I was going to countinue riding but said to myself maybe I should see what I dented or whatever that noise was. I pull over and I thought it was antifreeze shooting out. I was like that's dirty antifreeze lmao. It was oil shooting out in a fan spray pattern. The tire was completely soaked in oil. Thank god I didn't crash my baby lol. So yes if your running stock exuast the shroud and then the bolt are your lowest points. I am now lowered on Roaring Toyz links. I firmed the suspension up nice on the rear and have had no problems. But I am very careful over any bumps now. I know of a few others that have done this as well. So becarefull. Oh and MasterBlaster the shroud smacked off like a lolly pop lol so you are correct Sir ! Oh do people ride on the streets with the lowering straps ? It is a mean look what does it do to your suspension or any other handling probles ??? Please help with that. Before I buy the thing. Thanks in advance.

i have muzzy lowering links and lowered to middle notch, i ride my gf all the time and i havent bottomed it out yet..... strapped front, you cant slam it and ride a passanger but you can lower it. you just have to be more careful when you are driving. if a driveway looks steep like that, just make sure you take it at a angle. its like lowering a car, you got to know how to drive it

Just like on my 10R ; I can lower all the way down before a drag race day or leave in the middle link for every day driving...does take a bit of doing by myself... adjustable raising and lowering might be worth the money...
