what are you trying to say? that you broke your bike in using castrol syntec? can you be "more descriptive" so that we dont have to guess.

I think he's trying to say that he did his first oil change recently and wanted to know if using castrol syntec was OK. He just said it without punctuation.

maybe we should start a typing and grammar rule and start to ban people who dont make any sense.
like... what does this mean:
" before i thought to ask if anyone ever had a problem with this oil in their bike. "
it could mean so many different things...
this is an awesome book and perhaps kto might want to pick up a copy

kto, I am also having a hard time cracking your code. There have been plenty of threads on break in procedures and even more threads on oil preferences. Use the search function.

ty,tj i did already. i didnt see anyone comment on the oil i choose. i wasn't sure if that was a good sign or a bad sign. the filter i choose was from information on one of the previous threads.

Most people (including myself) will tell you to stay away from synthetic oils during the break in process. In case you have not yet checked it out, here is a link to Brock's break-in procedure.... http://www.brocksperformance.com/tech_breakin.htm

Whatchu tawkin 'bout Willis???
kto, it's your bike...Most guys use standard oil anywhere from 1000-3000 miles then switch to synthetic...Some guys use synthetic right away and have had no problems!!!...Just make sure you change it often...

Synthetic oil is more resistant to thermal breakdown. It usually contains more or better additives than the regular dino stuff. That allows you to go longer between changes if you have a good enough and large enough filter capacity to contain the additional crap. Don't forget you have a wet clutch adding to the junk your filter has to keep out of the system. Synthetic is not any more slippery than dino and doesn't do a better or worse job of breaking in the engine parts.
Use a good filter, change your oil regularly, don't use the re-refined $0.99 per quart crap from the local convenience store and enjoy riding your bike.
