Gen3 questions Hi, I'm typing on my laptop which is on the bike seat and have a few simple newbie questions.
Brock's said the PC3 would come preloaded for a stock ZX14 flies in. I'm plugged into it now using the software that came with the PC and it keeps coming back saying "error retrieving power commander map", then just defaults on the bottom of the screen "No Map Loaded" can someone give me advice?
Ok one more newbie question, the pipe appears to be around 3/16 in from the oil filter and it appears I won't be able to get the filter off. My girlfriend and another guy told me I'm crazy. The pipe won't give me additional room no matter how many times I take the header/flange off and install them differently. Also I tried working the mid pipe on my favor. Maybe I'm worried about nothing?
Any responces will be appreciated. I still have plastics, exhaust install complete and I know tech support at Brock's is certainly closed. Oh and they forgot to throw the decel plug in the box but today they promised to overnight it no charge

push on the back of the canister but make sure you loosen the bracket but it should be very close to the oil filter these systems are enginered with extremely close tolerances that is almost word for word the response Brock gave me to the same question

Thank you so much for the response, the install went great except for me worrying about that part. I need to quit being so paranoid. I'll push on the can, trust the design and quit being so paranoid!

stevewfl... In the future... if you need to, or choose to change a map... you need to use the 9v battery connector. The zx-14 shuts down the power to the ignition after several seconds to avoid burning out the fuel pump and/or battery... therefore the PC loses power afer several seconds also. Just use the 9v and you can leave the bike and key off until the appropriate map is downloaded... It seems to me that downloading the map with the bike running could possibly cause problems..... IMO... A lot of guys have mentioned that the pipe is close to the oil filter. I don't believe anyone has had any problems getting it on and off. I have a MUZZY and I have plenty of room for the longer filter... However the pipe is smaller in diameter... Regardless. good luck and enjoy...

Hey stevewfl. Everyone is correct about the 9V power adopter for the PC. You should have recieved it with your PC. As far as the oil filter issue, I don't have a problem. I've changed the oil once since I installed the GEN3. I'm using a cap type remover with a socket wrench. You can make small adjustments to the header position to move it away from the oil filter if you actually do have an issue. Remove the springs on the midpipe, collector, and header and then loosen the nuts on the header flanges. You can now make minor adjustments to the positioning of the entire system. When installed correctly oil filter removal should not be any problem.
