Muzzy airshifter kit arrived today
Well Muzzy is finally shipping the airshifter kit for the ZX14. I think I got the first one, but i'm not sure, and don't care. On first inspection of the kit, it looks damn good. The instructions are well layed out with lots of pictures. I'm am looking forward to installing this on my bike sometime next week.
This is a CO2 airshifter with a 1LB bottle. It looks like they are mounting the bottle outside the frame on the left side. Really you could use any small bottle like a 10oz sneaky pete with a regulator and mount it anywhere. But why would you hide a CO2 bottle for an airshifter?? Everybody will know you have one. My only complaint so far is the bottle has a big fat Nitrous Oxide Gas sticker on it. That has to go.
Rob, if you listening, I know you guys at one time wanted to use just one bottle for the NOS kit and the airshifter. And this is probably the case here. But can you order the bottles in bulk without the stickers attached and seperate?? That way when you package the bottle for the NOS kit, the guy could paste the sticker on, and the same bottle could be shipped with the airshifter kit, without the sticker. I know, small bitch. It's probably not hard to just take the sticker off.
Anyways, when I finally get some time off work, I'll let you guys know how the installation went. Keep in mind I'm a total idiot about working on my bike. I still have trouble getting the fairing off. But with these well laid out instructions, it should be a piece of cake. Everything down to the connectors looks plug and play.
Rob, if you listening, I could use a discount an a Sidewinder exhaust. I would hate to see me have to go with the Brock/Hindle, even though its more expensive.

I can assure you, the additional money is well spent. The map service and pipe quality really stands at the top on pipe modifications. I went from a well mapped stock of 169.2 to a 186.2 with just his maps and gen 3 exhaust. Perfect powerband.

I second the extra money spent on the Brock, I have the Smeg and brocks map for no flies and the bike rips. Been 9.73 and know it has low 9.60's

Well that opens my next question and I guess this is the place for it. I need a sidewinder. Why? Because it looks cool and this is now just a drag bike for me. The price difference to me, delivered is only about $100. Thats one hundred more for the Brock/Hindle. I'd sure like to see the HP difference between the muzzy sidewinder and the Brock sidewinder. If anybody want to send me both, I'll pay for the dyno time and let you know the results. I already have a pretty good idea of who/what I'm going with, but I want to here other peoples experiences. I'm especially curious about how much you have to cut on the lower fairing. Pics would be nice.

I put my 16oz co2 bottle inside the fairing behind the turn signal. Not much room anywhere on the 14 for extras.

I know I've said it before but I still vote for the Qucik shifter, its 250.00 and no messing with air or mounting bottle. And It works flawless. But airshifters are good to.

i found a 4oz refillable co2 bottle that fits perfect sideways between the frame rails where the tool box was. Now its not sticking off the bike...one less thing to look at.

Bu, do you have the Muzzy kit?? Gonna "try" to install mine tomorrow when I get home, any advice?
You can get small C02 bottles at walmart, like the kind they use in paintball. I think I'm gonna go with the 1lb bottle that came with the kit, as the bike is for the drags anyways. Might race on Friday if weather permits.
