Questions On Repacking Hindle Carbon Can Got Brocks Gen 3 StreetSmart exhaust with carbon can. Love the thing but, first time I've ever had a Hindle and first time I've ever had a carbon can. For those with experience, got a couple of questions:
1. Any general rule for number of miles before repacking? Always had aluminum or titanium cans and never worried about em getten hot and burning. So I was kinda lazy with my repacking. Only did it when the noise got too irritatating. Don't wanna burn the carbon can.
2. Always used Micron which had simple hex nut fasteners holding the endcaps. The Hindle has rivets. Guess they have to be drilled out? Any insights as to how these things get removed and replaced?
Needs a life
Full throttle!

Usually bout what, 5K for repacking? maybe 3K? How you're running the bike makes a big diff as well. Ie; how rich/lean...
Those are stainless rivets. You need to prolly take it by a shop that has experience doing that, as I'd hate for you to slip and perf yer CF can!

All cans should be the same for the manufacture regardless of the material that the can is actually made out of. For Ti / carbon / SS it shouldn't matter because the inside of the can is all the same. The outside is the only difference. But honestly most exhaust makers today make cans that don't have to be repacked at all. But I'd say the average repacking milage is about 7-8k miles. You repack the shorty exhaust (like the box broz one) every 2.5-3k miles so a normal exhaust should be at least double that if not more.

1. No general rule. It depends on how hard you run your bike. I would say 5K miles for a bike you run hard and 8K miles for a bike you run soft.
2. Easy as could be. Just drill the rivets and re-rivet after the repack. You could always send the can in to Hindle for repacking if you are nervous about operating a drill.

Thanks for all the replys. Micron got repacked at 8K. Brock/Hindle don't need it yet but I'm a cautious type since this is my first carbon can. I'll probably send an e-mail to Hindle when I actually think I need to repack. Now more concerned as to the next set of tires. Need is coming up quick. Torn between Pilot Powers and Metz ME3.
