There isn't really any difference in the exhaust emissions, it's the vapor recovery system for the fuel tank. This equipment consists of the following pieces:
You can get better pics of this by going to the parts diagrams at www.kawasaki.com, but I'm including this for reference:
Coming off the injector manifold, there's a hose with green tape on it, and a hose with white tape on it. The green hose supplies vacumn to the charcoal cannister, the white hose supplies it to the seperator. So that's the vacumn stuff coming off the engine.
Now for the extra hoses off the gas tank:
There's a hose with blue tape on it and a hose with red tape on it coming from the fuel tank. The blue tape hose goes to the seperator, and the red hose is the return. Or vice versa.
So if you want to disable it and remove the seperator and cannister, you need to pull the two vacumn hoses and plug the fittings off the FI manifold. Or you could just join the two hoses together with a union, accomplishing the same thing. On the gas tank, same thing applies. Either find caps for the fittings or join one hose to the other.
With that done, you could be able to pull the seperator and the vapor recovery cannister.
