U.S. Route 14

Length: 1,429 mi (2,300 km)
Formed: 1926
West end: Yellowstone National Park
East end: Chicago

U.S. Route 14 (U.S. 14), an east-west route, is one of the original United States highways of 1926. It currently has a length of 1,398 miles (2,250 km), but it had a peak length of 1,429 miles (2,300 km). For much of its length, it runs roughly parallel to Interstate 90.

U.S. 14 and U.S. 83 are the only national routes serving Pierre, South Dakota, one of only five state capitals not on the Interstate highway system.

As of 2004, the highway's eastern terminus is in Chicago, Illinois at an intersection with U.S. Route 41. Its western terminus is the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.

I'm thinking maybe next spring? Would be kinda cool, have never been on it to the best of my knowlege...

US14 is the purple line on this map:

Coolness. This is something I like doing. I have to admit that I haven't been able to go on all the rides that I've mapped out, but it's still fun to plan them out.

I've been doing the route for the Don Blair memorial ride since we started it.

I think what I'd like to do is to find all the state highway 14 routes and string them together.

So, I was able to put a route together across the various state highway 14s. The first one is WA, which takes you along the columbia river. Then comes ID, which is a twisy gnarly really-gotta-check-it-out-first road. Since there's no 14 in WY or MT, I headed south into UT. Then hop across NV (no 14, sorry) and into CA, which ends right back on I5.

I'll post a link to it like the above link.
