Do I have a bad Power Commander?? I installed my MUZZY 4 into 1 stainless system... and the Power Commander III USB. I ran a map that was for this pipe with flies removed... The bike ran good for about 3 miles... I was not hitting it hard... I was just getting a feel for the bike... and seeing if the map was good. Afer 2 miles or so the bike cut off for a couple of seconds... and then fired up when I let the clutch out... (about 50 mph). I then rode easy thinking maybe I had bad fuel or something. After another mile or so the bike stopped again and wouldn't start. I driffed to a stop and waited a couple of seconds. The bike started for a second or so and then quit. Several more times the bike would start for a second and then shut off. I figured it was a bad ground wire. I re connected the original ignition set up and it started and ran fine. I then continued on to work (another 3 miles). After I got it home, I pulled the ground wire and re connected the PC... making sure that the connections were good. I grounded the wire to the grame and started it. It ran for about 10 seconds and then quit. I did not get any error codes or anything... and I saw that the FI did not show any signs of problems on the dash. I then re grounded the wire in a differant place and the same thing happened. The map seemed to be fine at first when I was riding it. I let it idle (at first) for about 2 minutes and everything looked and sounded good. The PC is the one for the 14... and I am just wondering if anyone has had anything like this happen. i have only used a PC on my Busa.. and I had no problems at all. Any input or ideas??!! I traced the wiring to the PC and it looked good. I have not yet hooked up the PC to a computer since it is (as you know) hard to get at with the Dyno jet placement. Thanks!!! I had to drive the minivan back to work??!! Harley guys LOVED that... sheesh....

Check your oil. If the PC went bad and started dumping tons of raw fuel into your mixture, you could have forced fuel past the rings and into the crankcase. You didn't mention a strong smell of gas, but thought it worth mentioning.

Thanks for the input... I did not smell any gas... which is why I thought that the PC lost its ground.. shutting down and not giving any gas. This is why I thought that the bike started for a few seconds as there may have been just enough gas in the throttle bodies to start it but not keep running. When I connected the original ignition the bike turned over for 2 seconds or so and then started right up and ran well.. Another reason that I thought the PC was not supplying fuel... I am not a mechanic and therefore am just "flying by the seat of my pants".. or better yet just using 42 years of past experience... I just haven't worked with PC's very much. I was wondering if they have some type of auto shut down for whatever reason?? (That is a question) LOL... Do PC's have an auto shut off if it senses (or gets) feedback?

its bad .i got one from muzzy and put about 1000 miles on it then the bike started running like junk.it would stall at idle ,it would not let you use any of the buttons to program it so i took it out and put it back to stock and it ran perfect..i sent it back to muzzy......

Well thats the problem... I would of grounded it to the frame....

I think I caught something from htosado... ha ha... my error... you are correct... not Grame... but Frame... however trade to death... proper English would be "Well that's the problem... I would HAVE grounded it to the frame". You missed the apostrophe on thats... and you used 'of' instead of have... but I did get a laugh anyway!! ha ha
Anyway.. thanks everyone for the feedback. I removed the PC and started over... I reinstalled the map and everything... I rode 60 miles today and I had no problems!!! I am not sure what the actual problem was/is... and it may be the same as how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop... the world may never know!!! The muzzy sounds and looks great... I love this bike!!! A huge thanks goes out to RAPTER for his assistance with the VERY detailed instructions on the body work removal!!! What a great guy... and Fastest Busa also assisted me with vital information on installation!! Thanks to both of you guys!!! I also want to send a thanks to zx1kr. I want to publicly acknowledge that he offered me a PC at a good price... but I received a fantastic deal if I bought the pipe and PC from the same dealer... $620 for the Stainless Muzzy and $269 for the PC with free shipping. Sorry ZX... you are a good guy and a good representative of bikeland, (even if you are from New york..) LOL
