Which wire can I splice into to get an RPM tach signal? I need some help from the tech guru's here. Someone, somewhere, mentioned that there was a wire in the seat cowl area that I could splice into to get an RPM tach signal, which wire is it?? Picture would be nice.
I need to hook up an RPM activated switch for "something", and I need an RPM signal without having to go too the coils.

He'll probablty kill me for mentioning, but send a PM to Dubious...he has the manuals. You could just hook in at the coil though...one sitting on top of each plug. You putting in a remote starter or cruise control? (not remote start I hope)...

I have the manual, but looking at schematics just puts me to sleep. RPM activated switch for NOS or whatever. Don't wanna go to the coil, would rather hook into the ECU somewhere. And light blue?? Which wire, where? If somebody could post a pic that would be extremely helpful.

There's only one light blue out of the ECU. Hard to get a pic, cuz you'd just be looking at a gazillion wires.

Thanks, I never thought of that. The shift light would work, and if the wire broke because of the splice the bike wouldn't die. That's what I'm affraid of tapping into the ECU. It would be a lot easier to do it in the back of the bike, but I can take the windscreen off the get to the shift light wire fairly easily, then just run a wire back.
