question Hello I just bought a zx14 and cash strapped. I was going to do the fly mods and remove them. I have read many post about doing it. I question, do I have to get it remaped. The rest of the zx14 is stock thanks

It will run a bit lean below 5-6 K without PCIII re-mapping... but for the money it is the best bang for the Buck.
Congrats on the new ride... you will love it more each day.

Scificanada is right, it will run very lean at lower rev's. Unfortunately that means HOT too. The 14's engine runs pretty hot anyway and I think that this mod, without a remap could result in engine damage while running around town at lower rpm.

Hopefully that's a temp situation. One of the board admins is the same way. Bought a 12, and didn't have the bucks to buy a back tire! He caught hell for that for YEARS!!

i am in the same boat! mine is stock, but i removed the flies before all the test results were in, it runs perfect, no running hot and milage stayed the same. i would like to buy a pclll from brock, but when i talked to him he did not have any test results with stock pipes and no maps for stock pipes. i am hoping that he will make one this winter becuase i am keeping the stock pipes and do not want to put the flies back in

I can tell you, the Brock Gen 3, PCIII and Flies out was the best thing I could have ever done to this bike.
It now runs cooler, has a whole new personality, and in IMHO is a nicer ride as the power is more linear without the massive surge at 6K.
Handling seems quicker as the stock Anchors are gone.
No matter what you decide to do to your ride, this Bike is amazing, and you will have a smile ear to ear each time you throw a leg over.

Look through the posts and find zx1kr!!! He has maps for stock pipes with the flies removed. He has a dyno at his shop and has said that if you want a map he will E-mail it to you. I believe that on E-bay, you can get a PC III USB for around 269.00 with free shipping. If you remove the flies.. (or if you already have) regardless how it feels... it is running lean!!for the $269.00 it is a cheap price to know that you are not wrecking your motor!! I know it feels okay... but Brock and others have found that it running way lean on the bottom. Running lean is a bad choice on a motor. Find a way to get the money for the PC. Good Luck!! That is my opinion!

rcookr - if you could find a steal (ebay or whatever) on a PCIII USB for an '06 ZX-10R, that'd work, too. Just have to lengthen the ground wire.
