4500 miles...

...is what I got out of the stock BT014's. The rear is at the wear bar, the front still looks decent, but I just heated up the plastic to order a set of Pilot Powers, since they've gotten such good recommendations from here. We'll see if I like 'em, got a 1500 mile weekend getaway coming up starting next Thursday. Between now and then I have to install my new exhaust (at home in the box Whoohoo!), PowerLet gear, new Corbin (might arrive today or so I'm told, otherwise should be here by Tuesday), Throttle-Meister, radar mount, GPS mount, and install the PowerLet kit in my new TankLocker tank bag. Lotta work to get it ready for the road finally, but she'll shine. I've had nothing but joy for the past 4500 miles.

I have Pilot Powers front and rear on my Blackbird. My BT is just now starting to get worn in at 2400 miles.

Off topic - doesn't the Bird feel really anemic in the lower RPM ranges now? To tell you the truth, I think the ZX-14 makes the XX feel like a 600 in comparison.

but hey my 97xx with exhaust and a 16t on the front really pulled and rev quicker then my 14. It would pull the front wheel as soon as you gave it the gas. I think that quick rev is what im looking for on my 14. Im sure it would be hard to keep the wheel down with a 16t on it. That sudden acceleration is what im looking for.

I think I ride my bikes pretty hard, drag pegs in corners, always taking off fast rompin on the throttle, etc, but I've never toasted a tire in less then 3000 miles.

Oh come on, you'd NEVER get an F15 to live through a carrier landing, let alone a catapult shot, it'd pull the nose gear right off. Perhaps you meant an F14?
