Avoid Future MotoGP at all cost I am an avid motorcycle fan and a multi-year ticket holder of a premier pit row suite pass. I must admit that SCRAMP, the organization that runs the Laguna Seca race track is not qualified to run such an event. Every year there is something that goes wrong. This year was the worst.
a. No air-conditioning in the suite.
b. Catering that was ordinary at best
c. Not enough hangars in closet
d. Never bothered to clean the balcony seating or tables
e. Waited 2 hours for a bus to take my son and me back to the parking area on Sunday night.
f. 3 hours on Sunday for which there was no track activity.
g. only two hot pit access times: one of which had all the pit doors closed.
h. intermittent closed circuit television sound
I am writing a letter to the SCRAMP organization to detail my many issues. Will also advise the MotoGP to pick another US site for the race. They may have spent money on the track but they haven't spent a dime to make sure that the fans who attend are taken care of.

Seems to be typical now days. The million dollar racers are taken care of while the spectators are almost an afterthought or a nuisance that has to be put up with to make the TV feed look good. When you pay big bucks to see an event you at least thing that the spectators comfort would be addressed. Too bad Road America did not get the race a few years ago. It at least has good facilities and much better traffic flow. The track required too many changes however.
The 3 hours with no racing on Sunday was beond their control however. The heat was tearing up the track surface so badly that Dorna strongly advised not running support classes until after the GP. The track looked like a MX track by the end. Pedrosa was getting bucked out of his seat in sections. You could see him lifting off in the slo-mo shots from the race. Hopefully they will address all of the issues from this year and improve next year. If not the attendance will really shrink fast.

I read in MCN (UK) today that the riders were very unhappy with the new track surface and are insisting that it's re-done properly or they won't race there next year.
The new surface was laid too near to the race date. It didn't have time to settle or dry properly. No wonder it was breaking up and rippling like an old carpet. It looked plain dangerous and scary !

A number of friends went to Laguna Seca and said it was terrible! No water in the infield while they tried to find the reason for the water in turn3. That meant that the restrooms in the infield were all closed.
CHP was pulling over all motorcyclist's and checking for endorsements. Then there were flat bed tow trucks overloaded with sportbikes. The CHP Gestapo would just take the riders bikes and then leave them to fend for themsleves in triple digit heat, standing in the sun usually wearing a lot of gear. But the Taxi's found out and got on the scene to cash in on the misfortune of the riders that never bothered to get their motorcycle endorsements. But, I think the biggest benefactor of the day was the water vendors selling water for $4 a bottle.
I almost made the 2,000 mile trek to go and see the race. Something I did for many years until I finally wised up and left So Cal.
Road Atlanta doesn't seem to want to fix the problems at that track however Barber would be a great alternative to Laguna Seca.

Yep serious GOUGING was going on everywhere! It's as if the locals think that the race will always be there and that we have to go there!
It is as if no one really gives a shit about motorcycle racing or riding.
Lets just take these people for what ever we can!
I don't think I'm going back to Laguna Seca for a while.

Wow. California doesn't require probable cause to make a traffic stop?
I'd feel bad for the guys that got stranded, but there are too many riders out there without a motorcycle endorsement or insurance anyway... kinda serves them right. Posers. ____________

The guy in Utah that ownes the Jazz and built the new Miller Race track said he will do everything asked of him by motogp to get the event there by 2009.
An "M" on your drivers license that indicates that you've passed the state written and riding test. Mebbe it goes by other names in other countries/states.
