I use 3 different Garmins in my plane including a handheld one and I stake my life on them everytime I fly.

Best GPS's made. I'll take a look at this model at Laguna Seca and try and report back.

I was looking at the 2820, but it doesn't have an SD slot. Plus, it's a brick I looked at the Nuvi 360 but it doesn't offer the XM radio option and wasn't too sure about it's outdoor survivability. I've been hanging on to my trusty old Garmin V, the lack of memory is a bitch, though. This new one can't come soon enough.

O/T Anyone been to Jennings GP? I'm doing a couple track days there at the end of the month with my 998. Just looking for some feedback about it.

So far the NUVI is the only one I am considering and have been holding off as the prices seem to drop by about $2-3 dollars a week. This looks like a wonderful alternative. I am in too.

There is a nuvi 360 (Bluetooth) also, but you all need to realize one thing...the NUVI's are NOT waterproof nor rider friendly either...wait it our for the ZUMO or get a 2720 or 2820 if you need something now...the ZUMO will be the same price as the 2720, but we don't have a lot of detail on the user interface/operation...we won't see them till Oct . You won't see much of a price reduction on the nuvi's for the next while anyway...

We're testing the 2820 right now and it's awesome... saved us a TON of money on this trip... I have yet to get it wet to test it's "waterproofness" , but I will dump a jug of water over it soon and take pix.

It's waterproof to IPX07, which means it can sit under (1) ONE meter of water for 30 minutes...so I doubt yer jug a water will do much..worst case is that you might get some condensation on the screen which will go away within 30 minutes of it being on...

I have some marketing material for this. It appears that list will be just under $1100, reseller minimum price will be $999. I believe I may have a contact that can get me this for at least 10% under this minimum price.

Don't do anything until you hear from me..don't ask or PM me for the price now...we'll talk when it's out! I have a whack of them on order now...wait for Fishy's official review...
