wheels...
Has anybody put a set of stock size wheels on the 14 yet?...not talking a 240 or 300 tire. Whats the rim width? Will a stock 12 wheel fit or are they mostly the same? i didn't get a chance to weigh the stock rim when it was off the bike but they seem to be heavy suckers. it seems the most obvious place to lose some weight other than the exhaust.

Hey I know I'm
But two more things that erk me about the factory wheels in addition to the weight:
1. Color.
2. Front rotors appear to make it impossible to keep polished aftermarket wheels clean.
I need to figure out a solution too.

I know the color is ugly. I was going to call Performance Machine and see what they said, but my credit card bitch slapped me and hung up the phone!

Weighed my rear tire when it was off the bike. With a Shinko it was exactly 40 pounds. Heavest wheel/tire combo I've ever seen, by a bunch.
Somebody is making those composite wheels for the 14, don't remember who,but the price of the rear alone was over $1000. For that kind of money I could stand to lose a few pounds myself, so I go with Jenny Craig for myself, and Nitrous for the bike, and still have $200 left over for a couple new tires.

I had a blow out on my rear tire and my stock rim got bent by (i'm guessing) the lane marker reflectors on the FWY as I got off. The guys that sent it to get trued said it was an aluminum rim, Kawasaki replacement was $600. It cost $200 to true the rim and no bike for 2 weeks. The finish on the edge of the rim where they fixed it was lightened alot during the process, you can totally tell. I can only imagine what lighter weight aftermarket rims would run.

does anybody have any links for aftermarket wheels on the 14? magnesium, aluminum, or possibly carbon fiber, but i dont think carbon would be a good choice? not quite as durable.

FBA...since you have both bikes...how close are the 10 wheels to the 14..think one of them might work?
