My day at the track, part 3 Went to State Capitol Raceway near Baton Rouge today. Got to make a bunch of runs. The bike is set up now with one tooth down in front, 3 teeth up in the rear, with a new shinko tire. I used 89 octane pump gase, 25 psi in the tire, strapped the front end down. Track temperature was 135 deg F, humidity was between 60 and 70%. This was by far the hottest day I have ever seen at any track, including Vegas, years ago.
Best ET was 9.64 at 144.48 with a 60' time of 1.631, 330' time was 4.169, 1/8 was 6.264 at 116.77 mph. And I lost first round because I spun the tire off the line, first time I spun all day.
The bigger rear sprocket really woke the bike up. It now pulls really hard, much harder than it did before. It's probably just my imagination. I was foot shifting at 11,000 rpm but not using the clutch, just a little lift of the throttle and bang it into gear. My best 60' time was a 1.59 but I only ran a 9.80 because I blew the shift from first to second and slammed it into the rev limiter. NOS will be here Tuesday, and will be installed shortly thereafter. Still waiting on an airshifter, but will have that on the bike before I race next. The plan is to run the bike without the NOS, but with the airshifter to it's best time, whatever that is. Then run it with the boost.
Thanks to Buddy and Pam for there hospitality in allowing me to use there valuable shade, and a chair. The bike people there are some of the best.

There was another 14 there. Guy had 200 miles on it, was a better rider than me, and he ran 9.68. Oh, and that was after he pulled off the stock mufflers. Yep, no PC, no pipe, just stock headers and the collector and the bike wen from low 10's right into the 9's in the heat. Tell me these bikes aren't fat on the top end.
