Fan On/Off Switch (By Wheelie)

Nice instructions put together by Wheelie, with pictures, for modifying the emergency blinker so that it becomes an on/off switch for the fan. Might be of value for those of us who occasionally have to put up with rush hour traffic. I'm gonna try it, so thanks Wheelie.

If you were stuck in traffic, the fan would rarely be off...what would a switch do? You want to keep it on full time in traffic? Would that help? If it does, I'm in!

It certainly wouldn't hurt anything. I'm thinking that the longer it takes for the bike to heat up the better off you'll be. I'm gonna try it, but have to wait for my mechanic to come back. I'm not allowed around tools anymore. Dr.'s orders, or something. The medication is helping though

Use those directions and turn the emergency blinker switch into a nitrous arming switch...

In slow traffic I'll try running the fan before it turns on automatically to see if it helps keep the bike temp more stable. My bike seems to heat up quick and cool off slow. But as I've said in another thread, I'm most likely obsessing over this issue and just need to enjoy the bike. If I only had a light that turned on if the bike overheated I'd never give a second thought to heat, other than the slow roast to my inner thigh that occurs in traffic. I'm convinced that the 4th bar (one above mid) is normal for my 14 at just about any speed below 60 mph.
