Opinions wanted ...On a stock ZX14, or a ZX14 with Slip-ons ?

First would any of you consider a power commanders on a stock system or with slip-ons. Second do you think it would be a noticeable or significant power gains with a power commander. Or do you consider the stock map pretty good on a stock system?

Again same question different accessory. Would any of you consider a TRE on a stock system or with slip-ons. Second do you think it would be a noticeable or significant power gains with a TRE?

Do you think it a waist ??????.......... let me know ZX14.com

I think it's all personal preferance. I ordered Muzzy full exhaust systems for ours. Not for more power, bike does have plenty of that. We like the single sided look. And would like a little more noise. All depends on what your after for your bike.

The pc3usb will help the stock 14 if dyno tuned!

If you don't want to go full hooligan but want duals... do it.
The cats are quite restrictive, and retain alot of heat.
My legs don't get nearly as toasty as they did with stock exhaust.

The zx14 stock map, sucks even with stock pipes! Do geta pc3 and have it tuned, stock exhaust or not!

The tre will give more boost per dollar than any other mod other than pulling the secondary flies altogether, as it makes the bike think its in 6th gear and allows the bottom end power robbing secondary plates to open sooner , than with stock ecu controls...
Mapping is a must.. !

see the big write up on the tre, and secondary plate dyno's from Brock ,

Personally I would go 4-1 again, but if your stuck on dual exhaust, still get the tre and pc3, and have it mapped accordingly.

You will like it!

I can personally vouch for at least 4 HP gain up top on stock exhaust with a very minimal tune with the power commander. There is more I am sure..

I went with slip ons for two reasons. First I like the two can look, and second I had a set of polished D&Ds in the shop that originally came from a Busa, I had adapted them to my ZZR1200, and when I traded it I kept them, so the change was very cost effective, like free. I just band sawed off the stock cans and kept the stock headers and mid pipes. Added advantage was the loss of weight, and the lack of restriction plus a killer sound. Since then I pulled the flies and added a PC using zx1krs no flies map. I would definately go with the PC no matter what system you decide on. I am waiting to custom map mine untill the timing module comes out, but am loving it the way it is.....TB
