Have you explored Bridges?
Or the rest of this site for that matter?
There's a wealth of information and focus groups waiting for you if you havent...
Take a few seconds and check out this amazing entry from Doug Meyer... probably one of the coolest writeups I've ever seen...
I know lots of you have, but I also know that lots of you have entered the forum directly via ZX-14.com ... for those of you who arrived here through that path, check out that top menu bar and explore...

I have checked out the entire site but always enter directly to the ZX14 board. I love the content everyone on the ZX14 board provides. There is nothing better than to be able to compare notes with other 14 owners.
The other non-ZX14 related "stuff" on bikeland (movie reviews, radar dector tests, etc...) is useless to me (although I would not be surprised if others find value in the extras).
A sincere "thanks" for the ZX14 board. It is a great forum

I should have qualified my statement by saying MOST of the content is useless to me. Just useless because I prefer to get that type of info from other sources. I get movie reviews from newspaper columnists (who are in the business of writing movie reviews), motorcycle tests from [3 or 4] different magazines (who are in the business of testing motorcycles), etc... I'm not trying to put down the editorial content on bikeland. I'm just not interested in reading most of it. Since I work in print media, I'll admit that I'm probably harder to please than most (and according to my wife, I am wrong most of the time).
On the other hand, I think the "guest" articles are great. A piece by Doug Meyer has tremendous value (in my opinion) because he is a known commodity in the business.
Again, I was not trying to put anything/anyone down. I was simply stating my own preferences.

Just wondering about this statement as Bikeland is in fact "in the business" of "testing motorcycles"... how do you discredit our tests?
do you also discredit MotorycleDaily's tests? Motorcycle.com? How about 2wf.com? All are online and all are in the business of "testing motorcycles".
As for Doug, he is a founding member of this site and we always appreciate his input.
Or is it just our tests that you discredit, and if so is there a specific reason? Is there something that you found "wrong" with , say, the ZX-14 review? It doesnt seem very different from any or all of the "print" reviews I have read.

I didn't know bikeland was in the business of testing motorcycles (I told you my wife says I am usually wrong . I do not personally discredit motorcycle daily, motorcycle.com, or 2wf.com because I do not frequent those sites. In fact, I cannot say I have visited any of them even once. My comment of "being in the business of testing" was referencing the content that draws the majority of readership. If people frequent any of those sites (or this one for that matter) *primarily* to read testing related content, then those sites (and/or this one) are most certainly in the "business of testing".
Like most Americans, I am fairly ego-centric. With that in mind, I assumed that since *I* come to bikeland primarily for the member forums, the majority of other visitors came for the same thing.
I like traditional print magazine tests because there are *usually* a number of contributing editors that conduct tests on 20 (possibly more) motorcycles per year. Most editors have extensive racing experience and in many cases there are a number of technical sidebars.
I have not found anything "wrong" with any bikeland tests. Without resorting to the picking of nits, I could not tell you I have ever found anything but well written articles.
I would not pretend to know more about YOUR business than YOU. Just stating my perceptions. W. I. Thomas once observed, "that which is perceived as real, is real in its consequences". My perception (which is probably flawed) is that bikeland did a very small number of bikes tests per year (5-10) and therefore was not is the "business of testing bikes". I can't/won't apologize for my perceptions or perferences but I certainly apologize if I have misstated anything.

I hate bridges. I was stuck for a couple of hours on the Bay Bridge (over 3 miles long) a couple of weeks ago. If I had just taken the bike, I could have lane-split my way out. No such luck in the car

Next time you are stuck like that, just get out of the car, start screaming 'bugs! bugs! I can't take the bugs!' and start pulling your clothes off while walking around in little circles... Someone will come pretty quickly and help you get off the bridge.
