Callin' out RICH CRAFT 1 and zerMATT !!!
Nah..........not THAT KIND of calling out!
So...............I never heard anything more about Kennedale last week.
Didja go?
I WOULD like to see RICH CRAFT 1's bike run.
Also would like to see/hear zerMATT's D&D pipes.
Let me know if you're gonna be there, and I'll check with my wife, errrrr I mean, I'll check my schedule.

hey rich is it hard to keep on the ground with the 16 and butterflies out. I was thinking about but dont know how the bike will ride with smaller sprocket. Its not lowered yet and I can launch it pretty good. With those mods I know its a big difference.

Do you feel the 16 tooth was a big help? I think the 16 tooth would help my 60 foot and 330 times.....My best with stock gear and butterflies in place was a 10th slower than your time.. My mph was the same and you out weight me by 30+ pounds ..Good job !!!

my 2 cents:
lowered with 16 tooth, and fly's out its OK .
wants to wheelie around 9000-10,000 rpm, I just short shift it to 2nd when front end starts to lift,
and it pulls 2nd much better, even though its not way up in the curve !

no problem smokin
of course traction will effect all
my frt is lowered 1.25 ",
when i run the frt strap its a beautiful thing.
smokin / rich what rpm u launching at?
Like what rpm u holding till lever is out?
I just watched richcraft vid, and my rpm are alot lower.
Hard to tell but it looked like the front didn't come up at all!
tires squeeling through gear changes Rich?

I'm leaving at 4000 and as i let the clutch out i twist the throttle a bit till the clutch is out.....Then pin the throttle.....I say that but it's easier to say than do ..lol... I try to keep an eye on the 330 cone and get the thing pinned long before i get to the cone ....Even with the strap and lowered i'm still have big wheelies in first ...Some times it's a real fight in first gear......
I was reading brocks part 2 and they talked about leaving at 1800 ?? Maybe i'm doing it all wrong ......This is the way i do my other bike and cut low 1.40s 60 foots ...Maybe the zx14 want something else??

yea i read that also. I tried it alittle today. I dont see how he took off at 1800. You dont have to use the clutch at so low rpm. But then again are you taking off as fast slipping the clutch as to just turning the throttle. The bike wont pull a wheelie but i would think you were able to move out quicker in the torque range slipping the clutch. Thats the first time i heard that.

Smokin- We leave at around 65k tried to leave at around 4 but the back doesn't make enough torque to really move it at low RPMs even with the butterflies removed. Matt slips the clutch a lot. The real trick is to make the bike move hard as possible for the first 3 feet. Then stay on the clutch until you get past about 85. Around 75 it wants to lift the front wheel you have to ease off the gas during this spot and then back on that seems to be the best method. If you listen to the video the back stays high in the RPMs and never really pulls down. I think with a power comander and the right maping lower RPMs may be possible.

Thanks for the info ..... I'm adding 3 to 4 inchs to the bike next week and that should help the 60s and 330s .... I was going to keep it stock wheel base But my other bike is 5 inchs over and goes low 1.40s in the 60 ... It will be much easier for me if both bike are close in wheel base ...It's hard to jump on a stock wheel base bike one week and 61 inch bike the next week ... I think if the bikes are closer in the set up i will go fast on them both..
Well that's my plan and we all know how plans work ...lol
