Seat removal
Suprised but I can't get the seat off. Manual states turn the key clockwise and push down on the seat. It can be complicated. LOL
Anyone else have this issue or is it just me ?

I'm serious - honestly made 3 attempts and no go..
Plan to change the oil this Friday so I'll have the dealer check this out when we take the oil filter off.
My friend just picked his 14 up tonight so we'll try it out on his bike tomorrow.
THX guys

Seriously, mine is slightly funky comin' off, but you should be able to jiggle it loose while playin' with the key at the same time...

Put some weight on the seat close to the release point with your hand and then turn the key.
It's not that uncommon on sportbikes (especially Kawasaki's).
If that works you may want to shim your lock cylinder up by 1mm at a time with washers. Usually only takes a little, you don't want it loose.

Go full key lock open , then slam down (with your palm) on the very back of the seat. Move your hand away fast, and the seat will pop up. Repeat if didn't work on the first hit.

On another note while I was playing with the seat after 3 days of riding I noticed the seat cover is putting a mark on the plastic - that's black for ya.
Well we'll see how it goes in the am.

Don't want to be rude SJ but you aren't putting the key in the helmet lock instead of the seat lock are you ?

Never know. SJ the seat lock is under the tail section on the left side of the bike as you sit on it. Its pretty much vertical, really have to get the key straight up and down to get it in...

Mine didnt want too latch, you had to stick your hand under the CMP and push on the seat to get it to latch. So i took the latch out and oblonged the holes so i could move the latch back...it works but it has a slight catch when i take it off.
