Yes they do seem nice on those conditions. The problem I am having is
while leaning hard in turns they have slipped on me several times scaring
the shit out of me. And when that happends you know what it feels like. Your
affraid to lean it like that again. I just need something that is a little stickier
that's all.
Thanks Vak

quote: Its all about smooth throttle control. Try riding a 230+ hp bike at 700+ lbs total weight with crappy fuel injection running along side a pair of 06 gsxrs and a built zx10r thru some seriously tight twsisting roads at 80-90 mph. At any time you could get ham fisted and over power the tires and highside the bike in a blink of an eye.
Its all about being smooth on the throttle. Even with race tires you can overpower the tires with a zx14. Shit, this little 10r can over power the tires at will.
When all there was was the cbr900rr with 120hp you could get away with a lot of ham fisted throttle control, but these bikes now are over powering the tires.
Yep...you're 100% correct. Got to stop and think for a minute though.....there's a right tool for every job.....zx14's are NOT the tool for corner carving at high speeds....Don't let youself get sucked into the ego trap by trying to keep up with bikes designed specifically for that purpose....
Use the bike's +'s where they're applicable and you're less likely to be posting a story of how you crashed your new 14 here in the forum....
JMO....not telling you what to do or how to ride....it's too personal a matter to argue that point with anyone...

Very well put Larry. I left out the part where when I was chasing my son on his ZX 600 through the twisties I earned a quick trip into the dirt, minor scrapes to bike, but a valuable lesson. It takes more than great tires to keep up with good riders on bikes built for twisties.

Heavenlyride --- Excellent advice I need to hear that sometimes to
keep myself grounded and not get sucked in by some
squid and fuck up my 14.......... So thanks for that post
I needed that. Funny because yesterday coming back
from dynoing the bike this guy came up weaving in and
out of traffic as he came upon me he just looked. So I go
up next to him at the light he was on an R1. the light
changes and I let him go a little to see what he would do.
he oulls away and does'nt seem to want to slam a few
gears with me. He pulls ahead and cracks a wheelie.
Not the best wheelie not the worst but he was riding it in
a straight line so after going from one lane to the other
he had to put it down. So it seems you don't even have to
do anything just let them see the beast lmao............... Oh
and he must not have known where he was because the
cops around here don't appreciate that kind of riding to
say the least. And this road is known for people pulling
out and smacking people. All I was thinking is god
please don't make me watch this guy smack a car while
he showing off on a half cocked wheelie. Yes I was no
better then him a few years back lol. I love to crack long
wheelies past people to show them what's up. For some
reason I have this new found fear which seems to keep
me from doing something stupid. As well I used to ride
around in a tee shirt with jeans on what a moron I was.
I used to think people looked stupid in leathers. And
now I relize that I was the stupid one. Well thanks again
Ride safe I really don't want to hear about any more 14
crashes. Not to mention that Quarter back from the
Eagles I believe that smacked that car on a Busa damn
that ruined my day hope he's going to be OK.................

OK I am not one to hide shit or bull shit. I set the bike up the way Brock
said to. With my set up Brock got 184 RWHP. So I was expecting to be
at least close to that. I know I should not have run the bike on the dyno
in the conditions I did. I saw the temp and humidity on the dyno it was
95.5 Degrees lmao and like 70% humidity. I got 175.5 RWHP and 106.5
torque. I am hoping that in decent conditions maybe like 65 degrees and
very low humidity I will be able to crack the 180 mark. So thanks to brock
for his diary. When I go back to do my final Dyno run i will post the info on
who tuned it and our final results. Hopefully soon it will cool off. I am going
to film the run and results. I will need the tuners permission to post the
video but lets wait and see.
