Gsxr 1000 vs. Zx14 Last Night = Mistake

I went to see the 10:00 sneak preview of Nacho Libre last night and I ran into a GSXR1000 and what appeared to be a put back together Ducati. I was coming down Hawthorne and they came up fast. The GSXR pulled up to me and slowed, then a rev, then took off. I decided to let him go at first, then I ended up next to him at the next light. He and his buddy were throwin a high five when I finally decided to race. I wasn't going to let them go home thinkin that piece of shit bike could take a 14. He looked over and I pointed to the next light then gave some throttle and he answered. When the light turned I took off and it wasn't even close. Not even going above 9000 rpm, or 3rd gear for that matter,
I was up to 135mph and he was about 7 car lengths behind. The next light he popped up the front end and then made then next right turn. It was pretty fun, but I can't seem to find any real competition to this bike.

Man that's a pretty motivating story! I love hearing things like that. What year was the gixxers? I know My 06 is pretty mean but hopefully it's no match for the 14 because I'm a Kawasaki man till death! A lot of Busa riders were challenging the 14 at the track last week but none of them were stock. Can't wait to see that match up!

It looked like an '05, with pipes. The guy could ride, his wheelie was not that of an amateur.

another story here...
awhile back i started what i call "trolling",ridin around on my busa, waiting for the squids on their sportbikes to blast by me on the straights, only to slow down on any kind of turn or exit/entrance ramp, and then i make my move and smoke em in the turn. well thursday nite
i travelin down trhe interstate about 75 and a group of kid squids pass me doin about 120. i roll on the throttle of my 14 and reel them in b4 we get to the end of that highway where there is a 360 degree off ramp onto US-1. i set up for the turn and pass all 6 squids 1/2 way thru the turn. they pass me again a ways down the road on the straightaway, and i arrive just behind them at a traffic lite. they all turn and look at me,and i just couldn't keep my trap shut..i said i could not believe they would let a fat old 48 year old man on his zx-14
pass their pure sportbikes in a turn. no reply,no response, and i had that warm ,fuzzy feeling for the rest of the nite .

How would you feel if one of those "squids" ate a guard rail?

How would you feel if that was YOUR 19 year old son?

Sometimes the path less traveled is the better road.

I'm not trying to be an asshole but, "trolling" for people to put in the weed's wreaks of insecurity and Karma is a bitch.

You need to spend more of your time mentoring young riders instead of trying to put them in hospitals.

Probably NOT old enough to have ever stood over a dead body by the side of the road would be my guess. It's much different than a dog and they're bad enough.

If someone I don't know passes me while I'm turning through a single lane off or on ramp, there's a strong chance that I would punch them straight in the helmet and give them an earfull at the next stop. Fucking idiots.

Edit...and I think I was one of the youngest here at 24 when we had the poll.

I don't fuck around with squids in turns. Fuck that. Only takes one time for them to loose it while you're right next to them. With fucks on the road, wether on bikes, or in a cage...I twist it hard and get the fuck out of dodge. Let the idiots stay behind me. Let them wreck into each other.

Yeah you have to be able to feel and reconize danger (squids) as soon
as they appear. Do Not Play With Fools you will end up wrecking..........
Don't get me wrong I love to throw down a few gears with any reasonable
threat but I watch the young guns and the show off's they are dangerous
as well. Even at a bike meet I watch my 14 too many clowns floating around.
Be safe the 14 is way too much fun to lay down.......................

i like this... i'm old enuff to know to NOT jeapordize the life of someone else.i NEVER pass in the same lane, the above mentioned exit ramp is a 2 laner, and all the squids were in the same lane. i'm 48.5 years young , i've seen plenty of dead bikers, lost many freinds and customers. maybe i should have made it clear that that i'm not out to put anyone into the weeds or the gaurdrails, and for u guys to insinuate that is because i did not give u guys all the facts. my bad. i don't fuck with anyone with even a remote chance of harming them first,or me second.
and that's the facts, whether any of u wanna believe it or not.

thanx...i can't tell u guys how many people of all ages i spend time trying to relay info on countersteering, suspension setup, bike prep, etc. i have even had a few of those i have showed my heels to in the turns that have come to my shop and allowed us to help them be better riders, those are the ones who want to learn and be/get better, and i'm really glad they allowed me to help them. so i do mentor when i'm needed, and i try to even when the recipient is not open to it. i have NEVER sent anyone to the hospital,to their grave,or pulled some stupid stunt(s) as some of u have thought. as a hi-po shop owner here in south fla,and being in this business for almost 30 years now ,i take on a responsibility to all bikers. there are times when i can have some fun though.

You shouldn't race anyone through the turns if you don't know them. Some kids push too hard and never know when to give up. And if they wreck while a witness says you were racing them, you get charged with manslaughter. Not fun.

Blitz,
I agree with you 100% Thanks for speaking up!

Racnray,
Based on your follow-on reply, I am sure you had no intentions of harming anyone, but if one of those Kids lost control "Racing with you", you would be liable. Yes, it would be your fault. Even if you didn't collide with them. It would be something you would have to live with for the rest of your life. Not Smart for a 48 year old. Racing should be done on the Track!!!!

Favorite squid? I'll have to think about that . . . hmmm, nope, I don't like squids, especially with people like you driving up insurance rates and giving the rest of us a bad reputation.

From your professed riding choices, it is quite clear that you are a danger to not only yourself but also others on the road. I hope you are a registered organ donor so at least something good can come from your worthless existence.

Guys, not to be a spoil sport here but can we clean up the language a bit. I agree street racing is too dangerous and the stakes are way too high. The 14 is the new king and we don't have to prove it to anyone. Look at the results coming back from the drag strip. Be safe and friendly especially to the folks on this forum. Just my .02. Peace out!

I race canyons alone, but anyone from light to light, or on the highway. i took a friend riding to the Rock Store, he'd only been riding 6mo on a new Ducati 9 series. I took a turn with fresh fallen dirt and he leaned in the middle of the dirt (too soon) and went off the cliff. He lived, but titanium rods in both legs and one arm. that was 10 years ago, I was 24. I was a squid (US Navy) but I don't drive up anything. I have no points on my record or any accidents with other vehicles. Stalewarts you need to quit reading my stuff if you don't like me, cause you're not going to give me some sudden wisdom that will change how i ride.
everyone in here refers to people and how they talk about riding, and takes it so personal to insult who someone is as a person. i am a great, loving, responsible, thoughtful father and friend. Nothing to do with how I ride changes that.
I personally don't agree with racing canyons along with other bikes, but I respect people who chose to do so. Everyone in California thinks I'm a fool for wearing a bean cap helmet, but in Denver weeks ago i saw entire litre bike clans with no helmets at all. People need to take what they like from this web-site and ignore those whom you dissagree. Ignore me stalewarts, god knows I won't miss you.
