Akrapovic Exhaust
I e-mailed Akrapovic and asked about plans for a 14 exhaust. The reply I got said the are in testing for stainless slip-ons .
I would bet that it will be a while for a full system. I might as well buy an aftermarket system since I have to get some minor cosmetic scratches fixed on my bike.

There is a group buy on one of the other forums for a full Ti system... but it was somewhere over $1500, and wouldn't be out for a little while...

I think the GB price is $1650... I think that's insane for an exhaust.. I must admit Akra makes some really nice pipes, but that's a Lotta $$$ for a pipe. I had a hard time even spending $1100 on mine!!

Akro are definately nice pipes, but at 1500 dollar price point it's hard to justify...

nope but I have ridden one!
Unreal, and with 3 stage progressive boost... very predictable.
Scary but predictable.
My numbers are off too, about $4500 for a well thought out streetable pump gas turbo.
I don't count labour, cause I do my own wrenching....
Dyno tuning a turbo would be a necessity of course.

It's interesting thst people have prices for something that is not even in development yet. I e-mailed Akra direct and they said the were only developing slip-ons in stainless steel. They could not give me a time frame or part #.
It sounds like a full system is not a high priority and a long way off.

Anone tried a zx12 exhaust on the 14 yet.
With all the flex is some pipes and the very simular
layout of the bikes it just might work.

It is kinda strange considering the relationship Akra and Kawi have in AMA,World Superbike and MotoGP racing................I would have thought they would have had a 4/1 out already........

Awww come on.
Look at what we spend on parts.
Both my bikes have Cox radiator shields ($65), Galfer SS brake lines ($120), Clear Alternatives led tailights ($100), Watsen Design led front blinkers ($110). My zx-12r has Gilles rearsets ($380) and a Scotts/Ohlins damper ($450).
Is the $900 I spent on my (second) Akro SS race pipe really so outrageous?
When you look at not only the HP you gain but the weight you lose with a good aftermarket pipe, I'd venture to say getting rid of the stock porker zx-14 exhaust is probably some of the best money you will spend.

I'm with 'ya Blitz. Go to their site and click on the "are they really that much better link". You will see the almost fanatical attention to detail. Download the movie about their company. They have the coolest most James Bond facility ever.
A real success story. He has risked everything more than once to invest it the best most state of the art equipment available. He also believes in paying his workers a very good wage to keep good employees. I'm happy to pay more for a quality product and a place that allows it's workers to earn a decent living.
