Tire wear and recommendations?
For those of you that have few thousand miles on the bike, how often do I have to change tires. I am interested in doing some touring on the bike and would like to know how frequently tire changes are needed.

That all depends on how well you control your right wrist.
I don't expect to see much over 3,000 miles on my original BT-014 (got 2,600 now and it's just about gone), but others, who don't run 2nd gear twisted hard out of 100mph corners, then go flat out up to 150-160 before the next corner probably get better mileage out of theirs 
Bottom line: Anywhere from 2,000 to maybe 6 or 8,000 if you are *really* nice to it and stay away from those high-speed runs.

Pirelli Diablo Stradas sound like the ticket for you. Enough grip for anything short of a serious track day, but about double the wear of a regular Diablo. You can search the archives for our review of them (got a new set going on my bike shortly).

I'm probably going to go with Avon Azaros. I'll have to see how they handle on this bike, but I've gotten 10K a set on my XX.
