Glad I got the 10r

Boy am I glad I opted for the 10 at the last minute. I'm whoppin everything out there, busa's, 14's, r1's 12's. If you are not to big a guy (meaning not over 185 or so) get the 10. It is wicked fast. If you are a big guy then I can understand opting for the 14. The 14 is a real nice bike. It is also much easier for the longer rides no doubt, very comfortable, smooth and refined.. But for short stints you'll be screaming in your helmet with the 10.

Didn't see any 10's in Memphis at the AMA Prostar drags this weekendbut did see a 14 STOCK lowered and strapped run a 9.04 in 98 degree heat. Ricky Gadson would have won had he not redlighted. Gixxer 1000's stock were out in full force also.

If I would have stretched my 10 4 to 6 inches it would of ate my 14 alive! But I had the thin head gasket and cams degreed in and was making 172hp at the wheel. but stock wheel base you could not keep the front down

Not keeping the front down doesn't mean its as fast as the 14, Bentley...it just means it's lighter...yes HP/Weight is greater on the 10...but TQ isn't ...TQ is about 50-60% greater on the 14...and that, is the real difference. TQ on the 14 occurs much earlier in the range than on the 10. No stock motor, even stretched & lowered 10R can catch a 14...there's no way it will happen. 14 has way too much TQ at the wheel for that to happen and the front of the 14 WILL stay down...seen any stock 10's do the 1/4 in 9 flat? I said stock, not sprayed or TC'd or Turbo'd...just STOCK...The 14 has run high 8's with a stock motor...

fastestbusa, my ten was faster, and I said it was not stock, never said stock for stock it was faster. mine had mods, also never said it was fast because the front wheel would not stay down, actually said thats why my 14 would win. I know you like the 14 and I do to but the 10 is fast. and buy the way my ten made 83 foot pounds of torque so figure the weight difference in and the 14 has no real advantage at all. And who's 14 ran high 8's with a stock motor, If it has nos it's not stock, if it has a pipe it's not stock, etc etc etc. roll on's your probablr right but 1/4 mile there are tens out there that can out run 14's And buy the way i've ran in the 5's in the 1/4 so I know when somethings fast or not, Never thought my bike was faster cause the wheel don't stay down, hell my SV650 won't keep the whell down, but you won't see me racing a 14 with that.

I have a 10 putting 162 RWHP and & 79.5 LBS RWTQ...not a whole ot less than your's but weighs much less too...it can't keep up to my 14...case closed.

Gadson ran 8.98 with a pipe, stretched and lowered, no motor mods..this was a while ago...yer dreamin dude....your 10 can't stay with a stock 14, unless it gets a few bike lengths head start...

No I'm awake! And your right without a stretched swingarm my old 10 would not stay with a 14. And if you think for a second that Gadson, Brock, and everone else on a 14 running fast times is telling you everything they are doing to turn those times your dreaming! theres more work done to those bikes then you think. And I don't mean they are getting into the motor. They have so many little tricks to get those times. I'm hoping to make it out to the track this weekend to see what my 14 will do stock and I mean STOCK, not lowerd, strapped or anything. I mean 100% stock right down to having the tool kit in and rear fender still on. My best time on my busa 100% stock was 9.90 so I'm hoping for a 9.70 to 9.80 we will see. And I'm over 200lbs unsuited. I guess I just took offense to your comment about just cause my wheel won't stay down I think something is fast, I'm far from a squid. I know fast. Hell my riding mower feels fast when you go from reverse to forward and pull the weels up(lol) Oh and no hard feelings on my part. Just becarefull pulling up to a 10 or gsxr1000 that's stretched don't bet pinks or you maybe walking home.

Hey FastMaster......When you say beating all bike's is this on the track or in the streets. Makes a big differents and the rider's play a big role to. Stock to Stock. The 14 will win all day everyday.

No insult intended B...just that I don't believe that the 10 will beat the 14...and I'm speaking from personal experience, just because I've got one as you can see...and although it's sick fast...it just doesn't wake up at revs the way the 14 does...and all it takes is that split second where the 14 starts pulling and the 10 is stil winding up to pull...know what I mean?

The 1000 SS class allowed the Kawasaki ZX-10 to really shine with Ryan Schnitz on the Team Muzzy ZX-10 qualifying on the pole spot with a 9.037 / 154.58 mph pass. The run of the meet for the class was Ryan's stunning, record setting 9.014 sec, 156.46mph pass during his first round single. An eight second run cannot be far off for Ryan and the Team Muzzy Kawasaki ZX-10! Round two found Ryan's green 10 lined up against team mate Rickey Gadson on his orange ZX-10. Rickey tried too hard and red lit, giving Ryan the win. "In the same round Chip beat Mike Slowe's Suzuki. Ryan and Chip both won their round 3 match-ups, putting them head to head in the final. The two Muzzy equipped ZX-10's faced off, Ryan got the hole shot and the quickest E.T., winning over Ellis with a 9.044 to Ellis' 9.136. Congratulations to Ryan, Chip and Rickey for great efforts and a new national record!"

Ryans best is a 8.90... stock wheelbase.. no turbo ; no nitrous.. but Ryan is not average...he is as good as Ricky tho...if not better.. he is lighter.. again stock wheelbase!! .. not bad.. not denying the ZX-14 torque.. but it can depend on mods and rider...ZX-14 can be beat...I assure that much..

I still like it.. hopefully get one in a couple of years

just don't see it as an unbeatable bike...

Gadson 8 second run on a ZX-14 was not a showroom factory bike either.....Gadson ZX-14 was stretched out!!! on top of already a longer wheel base.. had racing gas and set up for the 1/4 mile from an expert as Gadson is...

Ryans ZX-10R was not stretched out...Imagine if it was? prostar has rules to limit what ya can do...

used just a pirelli tire to boot...!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PIRELLI ENDS '04 SEASON WITH AMA DRAG-RACING RECORD AND 16 F-USA AND WERA GNF CHAMPIONSHIPS
(Rome, GA) For Pirelli, the season's ending has been one for the books, literally. Among the numerous championships captured by Pirelli road racing tires during the 2004 season was one that had nothing to do with road racing, but which probably says a lot about Pirelli tires' functionality. Factory Kawasaki-backed Ryan Schnitz set a new AMA/ProStar drag-racing record for the 1000cc SuperSport class on Pirelli's DOT Supercorsas. Schnitz's 2004 Muzzy Kawasaki ZX-10 became the first supersport bike to make an official 8-second pass for the quarter mile at the Memphis Motorsports Park early this month. The record time was a 8.90 seconds, on a Pirelli's 180/55ZR17 SC2 Supercorsa rear and 110/70ZR17 front. Along with his new record, Schnitz also captured the 2004 class championship. "I was one of first guys to use road racing tires for Supersport drag racing, "

I don't really care..have fun guys.. Up to 150 mph the ZX-10R is a very stong runner..and loads of controlable light weight fun ..hehe...

the 14 is faster, but i could beat a lot of riders like slowbusa just because they are afraid of the bike. alot of guys buy the fastest bike just for a conversation piece. It all depends on the rider
