ZX14 Power Commander
Dynojet is now saying that their Power Commander for the 14 is still several weeks away. I realize that Schnitz is selling a recycled 10R unit, but from the note on his website about problems relating to downloading future Dynojet maps, I'm inclined to wait for the real thing. Am I being overly cautious?

I got the Ryan Schnitz special and it works great. I hooked up a 9 volt battery to it, plugged it into my laptop with the powercommander software running, and told it to upload the map I had, poof, done. No cutting or pasting nothing. The Powercommander has lines that go to like 14K rpm, but the maps I had only go to like 12k rpm, and where made by Ryan. It went in with no problem, and all the little cells lined up where they were supposed to be. It didn't fill anything out past 12,000 rpm, just like it's supposed to.
If you want to wait, then do so, but I see no problem whatsoever in using the ones that are out there now. Everybody is using the 10R ones, and nobody has any problems with them. I wouldn't worry about something your not gonna see, only tune once or twice.
Just get it, mount and tune it, and forget it.

Is a map available for a Muzzy full system? Brock will only sell me a PC with a "zero"map, meaning that I'd have to trailer the bike to a tuning center to get it to run at all after the thing is installed.

Schnitz will load the Muzzy map or you can do it ...Muzzy has two maps i think one for a full system and one with MR9 fuel ...

Marco, you don't have to trailer it, just get a map from Brock or Muzzy and use the 9volt adapter and install it off your pc. Or install it with zero map and ride the thing. There are a few guys that just installed the pipe and no powercommander and don't have any problem. With zero map it is exactly the same as stock.

I just ordered my exhaust and PC from Brock today. They told me it would have the map for their exhaust installed. I hope they told me right. You may want to double-check w/them. Or maybe I should...

It will come with the latest map. They will send you an email to register and you will receive new maps for different configurations or improvements without asking. Registration is free to all pipe purchasers............

So if it;s the same as the one for the 10R, why is DJ taking so long to build the one for the 14? Could it be that they're building one that actually opens the sub throttle plates at low RPM's? I think they have that ability...

Wiring doesn't take months in R&D at Dynojet...that's a matter of days...it's got to be more than that.

I know that, but as I said before, Brock and everyone else say they modded the plu/wiring to fit the 14...so if that's all that has to be done, you'd think that DJ would have the unit out by now, and they don't. So I suspect that they are doing something else other than just wiring...

Stock '06 10R unit on mine. Not from Ryan, not from Brock. My tuner got it from Parts Unlimited. Just lengthened the ground wire. Had my tuner do a custom map.
Again, I'd like to know the whole story of all the different versions, blah, blah, blah.

The 06 zx10r pc is what Ryan and Brock are selling now, I think Brock takes the time to lenghen the ground wire so you don't have to though and yes they plug right in, the 06 10r has the same plugs as the zx14...Muzzy had some of the real #224-411 PC's for the zx14, but have sold out so the things are out, it's just like waiting for the bikes all over again, the top stores get them first, I've seen the zx14 pc a fellow racer sponsored by Kaw and Muzzy got one the week before last, it came with real zx14 instructions, part number on the box/pc, not 10r instructions.
