So we have someone else who thinks the '14 is ugly, this just makes me so distraught, I'm not sure what to do..............how did we all get tricked into buying these 'ugly' Kawasaki's?

Aren't you guys just beside yourselves that someone who has a Hayabusa thinks your bike is ugly. Kind of like John Merick (Elephant Man) saying the hunch back of notre dame is ugly!

I'll think I'll take my ugly bike out for a rip right now, it's dark no one will see and point their fingers and laugh at me!

Oh the shame!

Busa owners, get a life.............

A prime example of that yesterday. I was out putting some miles on my bike and see a couple guys sitting at the Sonic. Now normally I wouldn't stop in but I had talked to one of the guys before at my friends Motorcycle shop Open House. So I pull in to be sociable and the 20 year punk on the Busa starts saying how ugly my bike is and how he doesn't like this and that and this and that. So I said, ya know it's real nice when someone pulls in to be sociable and the first words out of your mouth are a put down and saying how ugly he thinks my bike is.

So I say well that's pretty typical of a Suzuki rider. Not liking anything other than what they ride and anything other than a Suzuki is POS. He sent me a PM on another board apologizing for calling it ugly. Lol.. Told me I should lighten up. He then goes on to say he was jealous because my bike is faster than his. Ha ha. What a tool.. I told him he needs to learn what motorcycling is about. Its about riding, not about who is riding WHAT.

I told him he should be jealous of my 12R as well cause its faster than his Hayabusa too.

Lol..

Right on
My frist ride, very first ride from dealer straight to secluded back road, to do some heavy roll ons and break her in, I am going down the road and low behold a busa on side of road... I cruise past diong 140, he blows by me like a tool, i just let him gain some more and then i start reeling him in ... were travelling like 270 now, then i see bikes parked on side of road... busa doesn't slow down he does a fly -by pegged.... I don't know who's parked or what they may do so i slow down, see a couple of r6 parked, i slow down more turn around and go bullshit, I saw they had camera's so I stop to say Hi.

Busa guy burns another mile before turning and returning.
He parks beside us and is about as excited as me..... that he see's a zx14.
All the guys who idon't even know are real nice about it, busa guy is excited yet bummed about my bike.
I deflect all the attention and tell him the busa is agreat bike.... he's says oh yeah?
Why didn't you buy one then... ?
Cause for $1000 more I felt like buying a newer design.

Good guys, but I never rubbed them wrong either.
, the guy on a 600 is like your bike is twice as fast as mine.
I asked him if he enjoys riding?
Told him thats all that matters then.

Busa buddy did not want to race, and I did not ask either... now if he was a tool i would have wanted to., or if he offered.
I just play cool , wave to EVERYONE, and be nice.
I'm out to enjoy my ride and make friends ... not petty games or insult others.
Sometimes it comes around sometimes not... Oh well.

Lost their numbers though... too bad.
Good guys.. and more mature... not squids like some.

But exactly what you said zxlnt, it's not about what you ride!

Ride on Brothers whatever you ride!

This weekend, I'm doing a top speed run, just shy of 1600 klicks on the bike now, changed oil for the second time last night. I have a favorite road out in the boonies for my top speed runs, new pavement, no cross roads for a good distance, good visibility. Don't want to hit so much as a gofer when your going that speed!

It sounds like you don't need a very long run to hit the limiter though!

Lyle, did you get your parts yet? Blackfoot emailed me yesterday to advise my replacement front fender (original fender had a big rub mark right through the paint) is in now.

I don't usually keep the GPS on unless I'm travelling on longer rides...but I'll try and get a reading sometine in the next few weeks at 300KM for ya! I can get a snapshot right off the screen and post it too...I had one on the Busa somewhere...from a few years back....

Oh....found it, here it is, this was done during break-in in 04 I think...I had some showing 300KM, but lost them...so this will have to do for now...will post 300 KM on the 14 soon.

Here it is in MP for all you dudes in the good ole US of A

Needs about 16-18 seconds or so if you start from 1st (pinned through the gears) to hit top speed, if I remember correctly. Roll-ons in 6th from 200 KM take longer because you're not in the right powerband yet (better starting from 3rd at 200KM). Just one thing...the bike will lift a bit between all the gears including 5th at redline -- and she gets a bit squirly, so stay low down and be careful...probably don't need to say it but, DO not keep yer head up...LOL

Funny that the "Busa" clones seem to feel the need to attend the ZX14 and complain about our bikes....
Thou doust protest too much....
I could care less about your ride and don't attend your forum, why????? No Threat.
Seems you Busa dudes are really threatened by this bike....
You know, even though the trade in value of your busa has dropped significantly since the ZX14 came out, some unsuspecting fool will give you a few dollars towards a 14... well enough for a pipe for one

No Mark. no parts yet but things are lookin good .
I'm being taken care of.
Dealer is workin it out with Kawi

Got some parts from Schnitz, adjustable lowering link, pair block off plates, and fan.
Spiegler clip ons and 16 tooth sprocket on the way,
and Rhonda from Brocks just called , they got my PC3 rewired, downloaded, and pipe, tie down strap and bracket boxed and ready to ship.

I'll let you know how I like the clip ons, I think they'll be better than the heli riser plates!

1.5 inch higher, 1.5 inch closer, and straigher and flatter bend.
Fingers crossed!

The thing I always liked about the zx-12r is owners generally are a cut above the rest. More mature if you will.

From what I've seen and would expect, zx-14 owners are the same. I'd be willing to bet that 95% of zx-14 owners didn't buy the zx-14 because it's the "fastest bike in the world" but bought it for the whole package.

Personally, I could give a rat's ass if somebody thinks my bikes are "ugly". Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I've always liked the Busa. I don't think it's ugly. But, it's been one-upped and that is bothering some of the wannabe bad asses that ride them and thats why threads like this get started. Some dipshit with a small penis is feeling angst because he can't sit around Sonic bench racing and talking shit to 18 year old kid's oogling his Busa and tell them "it's the fastest bike in the world" because it's not anymore.

I've met probably 12 Busa owners over the years and it's a 50/50 proposition. 50% of them are great guys and 50% of them are wannabe's that bought the bike because "it's the fastest bike in the world". The chicken strips always give it away.

Read the reviews, read the riding impressions, read the magazine articles. The Busa has been dethroned. It's reality and if I owned a zx-14 I'd just be sitting back and smiling when some knob polisher comes on and say's "it's ugly" because that's what a 10 year old says when he's losing the argument.

Just my .02.

Funny you should mention chicken strips. Has anyone else noticed their chicken strips get wider on the '14? What I mean is that on my ZZR1200, I had very narrow chicken strips after a good hard ride (narrow as in nearly non-existant). But now on the 14, I've got chicken strips again. Nothing huge, but maybe 1/4" or so, and I'm riding just as hard, even harder then I ever did on the ZZR. Could it be the tire change from a 180 to 190 that's making it more difficult for me to get "down" are far as I did before? Just curious

Hey
I got chicken strips.... Big ones
They are paving the whole town, and what isn't paved is covered in gravel, or dirt.
To get out of town I gotta drive thru the shit, every ass clown drives 50km/h side by side....
The odd one wakes up, then the odd wake one is considerate enough to let you by.

Dirty little shit hole town I live in.
FT. McMurray sucks!

I got my bike though!
