Not sure, but the service manual "should" tell you, and should list optioanal rates if available!

The manual does not give the rate only the standard free length of 257mm and a min. service limit of 252mm. oil 5w kayaba 01 489ml or 563ml if completely dry.

I realize your like 320? was it?

Have you talked to any spring / suspension companies?

I hope your not just going off the race tech / zx12r comparison i gave you?

That was just to demonstrate the difference if spring rates suggested for 170 lb vs 250 lb riders!
Suggested rates may be different for the zx14.

A heavier rate will definatley help ride height, along with raising the oil height to control bottoming, but there are so many variables including valve shims etc that you really should have a suspension shop work with you.

Valve stack / shims should be changed too, to balance the increaseed force of the springs.
The rebound will have to be increased to prevent suspension rebounding faster with stronger spring, as well compression speeds need to be controlled so the tire follows the terrain.

As well the rear will need to be set up to balance the stiffer / stronger front suspension!

REALLY .... GET IN TOUCH WITH A SUSPENSION SHOP!
I DON"T WANT ANYONE TO GET HURT!

THE INFO I HAVE GIVEN IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES, AND IS NOT INTENDED TO DIRECT ANYONE TO CHANGE THEIR OWN SUSPENSION COMPONENTS!

Just providing some insight bro..

The front fork spring rate is 18N/mm. Not sure of the conversion. It comes from a good source this might help http://www.onlineconversion.com/torque.htm

to all. I am working through the race tech site and the local texas dealer. I am not going to go in and screw with it. Too much at risk. I am curious though and always trying to understand more.

Thanks for the feedback and I understand that information is just that. What I do with it is my own liability.

Stupid is permanent and ingnorant is curable.
