Vegas dude, I thought I was the only one with such shitty mileage. Yestarday I had my wife on the 10R and my buddy on his Busa...I used 40% more fuel than the Busa and the 10R...not that I really care, but was wondering if something else might be wrong with this motor...seems to have plenty of power, not burning oil, just lousy fuel consumption.

WIth a pipe, my busa only got 36 mpg, but I run high speed a lot and that uses fuel. On the 14 I varied the rpm and speed. Did get up to 120 a couple of times today but averaged about 80 or so. I'm happy with my mileage................

Speedo reads 300 when you are at 274 (GPS) or so, but when you hit 300 and pin it, it will stay there till the limiter kicks in...(CDN speedo KM's) Dubious, I hit 300 a few times and bounced the limiter, pulled hard from 280 up....I'm surprised to hear you say that, I wonder why that was, mine just pulls like fuck till the limiter...I hit 275 today in 5th and shifted to 6th to pull hard to 300...more than once today.

Well Kawi sold me a bike with dented mid pipes, and every day has been windy!
Dunno.

Got 7 days off finally.
She's gonna see some mileage this week!
Check it all out again. GPS too

I have 200 miles on the bike, and I get 36 avg. in 100% city riding. Some stop/go traffic, lots of short trips, and not much time on the highway at all. I noticed on the ride home from the dealership(about 30-40 miles) I got somewhere around 43 from the dealer to my house.
Much better than driving my truck around(10 city, 16hwy)

I got 36.6mpg for the total of the weekend trip. Best tank 39.2 ( 261mi / 4.1gal) Worst tank 30.1(120mi / 3.9gal) The best tank was done on the flat high plain with a bit of a tail wind. Worst was 100miles of twistys oh ya!! I'm a dyno load 320lbs at 6'5" I am sure the mpg could dip into the mid to high twentys if I was out with the fast guys but with the wife it pays off better to keep it a little more sane

I just got back from 450 mi overnight Bed & Breakfast "run". I know you can stop laughing now. It was the wife's and mine 1st anniversary and it was great. She took her SV650 and I took the best bike I have ever owned. The Kawasaki ZX14. I can not say how much I like this bike. Power = Nuff said. Brakes = Even Better. I have never had better. Even six pot Performance Machine calipers and rotors, which up to now were the mark to beat, are not as good. Handling = Sure there are plenty of bikes that will turn underneath a 14, for its size it is really, really good. Tires = I have done an about-face on the BT14s. They are better than I thought they would be when pushed hard. I manage to blue streak them right to the edge and they never caused me to once go Oh No!! They stuck and balled up nice. They do wear quick 2100mi and they are pretty well shot but they surprised me somewhat. I just ordered a set of Pilot Powers so we will see the differences. Looks = I like and don't care what anyone else thinks. But others seem to like and if they know what they are looking at they just ask " is it as fast as they say"? I reply "no it's too slow" and then I laugh!!

Tool man

Good Imfo. I went to W.V. last week and at 1700 miles my back tire was shot. Put another BTO-14 on so I can run the matched set. I to will be switching to Pilot Powers. Please keep us posted on the cmparision

Just got back from my 3000 mile trip. I'll put together a trip report later, "If I don't fall a sleep first". I want to go over the 14 with a fine tooth come first to make sure there are no hic-ups. Yes I did get to everywhere I promised. Deals Gap, St. Louis Arch, Norfolk, Va back to Orlando. Yep butts a bit sore, but the ZX-14 ran almost perfect. More on that in my report.

Ya I know...and I think I'm done doing this stupid shit...think I'll stick more to the twisties and leaning...any dickhead (including me) can do 300 on a straight line...now that I've been there /done that...I'll go back to riding normally (well below 300KM/H speeds)...:now, don't piss me off and tell me that your wife is on the bike with you when you pull 36MP/G. Dat's all I need to hear now...
