BUG ? ZX14 FAN does urs run after u turn off the engine ?
ZX14 FAN does urs run after u turn off the engine ? Mine will run if i turn off my bike but the key is stil in the ON position. If i turn the bike off completely and remove the key the fan will stop. In the past my experience has been that my ZX12 ran when it was hot whether the Bike was turned on or running or shut off. I am wondering if this is a BUG.

Nope, the '14 doesn't appear to run unless the key is in the "on" position. My ZZR would run no matter what (if the bike was hot), but not the 14. Not sure why they did that...

Or could it be that the fan goes off with the ignition until some higher temperature is reached and you have not yet experienced that temperature?

I've tried higher temps on my first weekend ride. The temp gauge had all bars except for the "H" bar lit and still no fan... I was a bit scared with those temps on my first 90F long-ride day.
I'll be riding again all day on Sunday, probably 250 miles in 93F heat. We'll see how she does without the factory fill oil and 1300+ miles.

At least the fan does not sound like the 'leaf blower' that Buell has on their bikes!

Has anyone seen the "H" bar lit? Mine gets up just shy of it anytime I get into traffic at temperatures as low as 65 degrees. Perhaps it isn't as hot as we really think . . .

Nope it was 105 in Phoenix today it hit the 5th bar one below the top H bar and just stayed there. I was sitttin waaaay to long on the on ramp to interstate 10 and it did not climb any higher. My own personal temp. was on boil over. I have not as of yet changed to Water Wetter or any other. The fan has never stayed on after the key is turned off. I would say not to worry guys. It will get even hotter down here in HELL. But I never worry I have gasoline underwear on :P

mine has stayed on when the bike was off. It is 95+ in Houston, and stop and go traffic doesn't help

Fan will run till you turn the bike OFF. As long as ignition is present, the fan will run if the temp says it should...not a BUG...most, if not all bikes work this way..cars too. BTW, My 10R runs hotter now after the pipe and power commander, though it isn't really lean...I wonder why that is...
