Muzzy pipe installed *now with pics*
Ordered a Muzzys stainless/carbon full system 10 days ago. It arrived to day and I installed in this evening. This is a very high quality product!
Total job took approx. 2.5 hours (took my time) and did not require radiator removal Everything fit great and the bike sounds mean. The exhaust has a great bark to it but may be a little bit on the loud side. All in all, I am very happy.

Runs great. I gained 8hp and 3tq. It does pop a little but it sounds cool. Dyno shows it starts lean and richens up at top rpm. Go for it, but when you can I would install a Power commander.
Here's a post from another site on the muzzy gains without a pc, I called the shop that did the testing and they said the same thing.

i have muzzy carbon fiber too, sounds great but i get a lot of back fire at pretty much any rpm when you let go of accelaration. did not do on my zx12 with the same mod. is yours doing the same?

Did you remove the middle fairing for the install? I'm ready to tackle mine, and looking at the open area adjacent to the exhaust ports, it looks like nimble fingers could remove and reinstall the header flange nuts with the fairing in place.

I am also getting a high amount of backfire on deceleration. My ZX12 did not seem to have as much. Overall exhaust note seems louder than previous bikes. What do you think about the noise volume of your pipe?

I removed lowers and mids. I also pushed the radiator forward. Not much room for the R&R but at least you don't have to remove the radiator

it seems very loud on idle, sound like what muzzy always sounds like in idle or low rpm but on higher rpm it does not sound like muzzy, it is very deep sound, it turns a lot of car alrms on in my subdivision!!!

Mine also seemed abnormally loud at idle. I checked for air leaks and everything looks good. The pipe fit great. Just seems so loud at low rpms/idle!

You Know Tj the packing in Muzzy muffler are are rapped in a special plastic that when Heated melts which will make it a more mellow tone, I heard they were easy to to install i have a few friends that just put theres on and they say the pipe rocks there just waiting for there power commanders to do little tunning.

I just got the Muzzy on last night and only took it for a short ride. The bike feels like it has a little more power. I can't tell a real big difference. You?

The MUZZY packing is installed in a plastic bag. The sound will mellow out after the first ride when the plastic melts away and lets the packing do it's job.

That explains the volume issue. I can't say enough positive things about the fit & finish. The carbon used for the can is beautiful. I can't wait to take it out for a good ride and use the extra power.

Yup i have had a lot of Muzzy pipes and after a few miles if riding the sound gets real nice ( not to loud but just right) But untill that plastic bag burns away it sounds like crap...Rob great job on your header and other parts ...Keep up the good work...

The pipe sounds great (now that I have it "broken in"). No PC3 yet. I am waiting for DynoJet to release one designed for the ZX14. Bike actually runs fine without one. No doubt it will run even better once the PC3 is installed.
No fender kit. Just 86 cents for two "L" brackets and $25 for a tiny LED license plate light. See this thread....
