Ok if you want a show bike. And just about every fat tire conversion I have seen the rear wheel is offset so the chain can clear the side of wheel.

Just put a bumper sticker on the back that says "I don't ride the bike, I wear it like jewelry".

You'll accomplish the same thing,

If you can find a good sticky tire, then it can be DragRaced...

Hook it up and let us know how it works...

I was gonna say something along the line of a 300 rear tire making it a poser ride but Blitz said the same thing.

They look good for sure, but like the Hardley's good for show only...but then, probably don't even need a stand to keep the bike up while parked...

Would there be any benefit to a wide back tire on the dragstrip? Better contact patch? More traction?

Why someone would take a beautiful machine that engineers spent YEARS developing to perform to it's fullest in every riding condition, and "MUCK IT UP" with some BOGUS tire that is twice as big as it needs to be is beyond me!! If all you are going to do is cruise for chicks at the beach, thats up to you. Me... I'm buying a 14 for the reasons it was intended for.

Wh? Because some people like one thing while others like another. Either way, it's what they prefer and those desires end up making it better for the industry overall as more dollars are spent on motorcycles and motorcycle specific equipment. Better than being a one dimensional market. Just my thoughts. After all, it is their money. And even those who 'MOD' their bikes for what is considered performance benefits, change up what the manufacturer thought was an already perfect bike that they spent years developing.

I personally would prefer two have a custom ZX14, then a custom chopper. I would only do this if I had another bike capable of handling... But if it's all about show ,that wheel/swingarm coversion sure does look nice!

superstreet has been touting the 240 kits , stating they make no difference in cornering, track times are real close to 190 tires...
I saw some pics of them leaned over on the turbo cbr1000 in November issue, and ...
well....

I call bullshit!

The 240 has the same profile as my 190 tires do after 3000 km here in flat land. Right before I finnish them off with the grand burnout finale'....
The profile looks squred like a bike that had been ridden only up and down maxton till the cord show in the center, and the nubs are still on the sides.

The 300 is obviously even worse.

as far as drag racing... well I would imagine for the power of most bikes other than funny bikes and top fuel bikes , the additional rotational mass will negate any effects of additional traction.... unless your into sand drags... LOL ... then youll need a 300 series paddle tire! LOL

squared tires as we all know handle like shit.

If you are buying it to look good, the 240 is for you but if you want the best performance (HP and Torque) as well as handling, keep the 190 on there. Even moving up from a 190 battlax to a 200 Shinko will cost you 8 to 10 HP. That's what I found out the hard way. More rotating mass. A 240 would be far worse than the 200.

i've ridden a busa with a 240 and 4" stretch and lowered. the main thing i see is slower turn in and increased effort. with some tuning some of this may be compensated for, but i'm sure not all of it. the main thing is that it takes more effort to ride hard in the twisties. and as for the horse power issue well we all know many , many ways to get that back bottom line is if you wanna put in the effort you can do it.

now the 300 is a WHOLE differnt story! LOL it is much harder to ride!

but thats just my opinion from riding both.

and only 240s are offset usually, 300 have a jackshaft and are centered.

1. A 240 Pirelli is very easy to ride at stock height or with a mild drop. A 300 is not so fun.

2. C&S Swingarm... have fun with that.

3. Trac Dynamics my friend... Trac Dynamics

4. blitzkrieg.... you're incredible.
