Air filter --

Just doing the pipe install on my 10R and we did a baseline run. We had a very dirty, almost blocked air filter...got a measly 149 HP...(I'll post before and after charts later). Question I have is, what type of HP drop should I expect to see with a very dirty filter? I am going to have the new pipes installed (Brock Gen 3) and do a run this afternoon...

FHA
airfilter restriction is totally independant for each machine!
6hp diff for zx14, between clean one and none!
I would think a plugged one would make a big difference!
Hell if it was TOTALLY plugged it wouldn't run!

But you knew all that anyway.

I just wanted to use your new handle FHA!
and show off my new avitar!

Thats not bad dude. My 04 10R started at 144 fresh then 2000 miles 146rwhp then full system Ti force then Muzzy thin head gasket and cams degreed and ignition advance 168 rwhp. Check out Ivans performance for his 10r.. Same type of set up thats where I followed his steps.. That is normal horespower for the 10r .. The mags are lying or they have a massaged bike...

149 for a completely stock 10R is good - mine is 156 with a slip-on and air filter (same dyno and similair conditions).

Come on bro.

You got all that machinery in the garage and you are telling me you weren't smart enough to clean the filters?

Don't be a 238.

I usually have the service done at my dealer...and I guess it was something I overlooked on that particular bike. I do however grease and adjust my own chains...and clean the bikes myself...but that's about it...no time for much else...prolly cuz me spends too much time postin here...wtf is a 238 anyway?
