RIP 1st ZX-14 Rider (link)

havabusa12r PM'd me this link from R1 Forums ...

http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=163315

Becareful....!! RIP 1st ZX-14 rider (LA Honda)

Was at the Honda dealership looking at a 600 for my girl....
The first ZX-14 to come off the lot 5 days ago, rider was getting on to the 610 freeway coming in to hot, and there was a car that came in to hot and crashed and was right in his lane- He was to fast hit the car- That was 3 days ago, and they pulled him off life support. He's dead. DEAD.
Guy clearly forgot hes riding a street bike built for dragging, not corners perse-
Rob the sales manager actually got all broke up about when he pulled me aside to tell me this- I couldn't help feeling it too-

Lets wake the **** people....>>!!!!<<

So as I just read some thread of some jack ass claiming how he got his knee down after getting his first bike, an R1, after 8 months I thought it prudent to write this...

I live in Venice Beach, on Venice Blvd so I see every shit and his brother, riding in ways that would never cross my mind.... maybe this might put some in check.

I really dont know any of you guys but I consider some of you friends, we are of a different tribe... so I feel it when I hear of brothers getting landed. Ride like you want to live... Many seem to ride like they want to die... and for what. Because you think your fly on your fing sportbike. NO most people think we are shitheads even when we dont ride like it....!!!

Think of your families, your friends, and don't be selfish. Ride like it

You know something it can happen so quickly, but if we use good judgment we can avoid most pitfalls.

Here lately I have come up on many cages out for summer rides and not knowing where they are going. Two lane rural road and cage driver looking for address or road doing 30 mph and me coming up from behind at a buck 20+ and they turn left turn signal on right when I am on top of them or they just turn left with no signal, nowhere to go. Have fun but be cautious amigos.

RIP

I know LA like the back of my hand, there is no 610, I'm sure he meant 710!

I'd only ride the 710 at 3AM Sunday morning or in an armored Hummer, that fucking place has drunk Mexicans flying around like birdshot at the beginning of quail season.

A real shame, I hate to hear stories like this but try telling some folk to cool it and you only get abuse.
I was at one of my local bike shops on Friday and a customer got onto his 600 Suzuki, just wearing a shirt and slacks, no gloves and after red-lining the engine goes screaming off through the traffic, an accident just looking for somewhere to happen. The guys in the shop looked skyward, they have tried a million times to politely ask people to drive carefully in town. They might as well be speaking in Martian.

I'll go on the record as saying I hate these "Be Careful" and "My best Friend Died" posts.

We all know people that have died. But when it becomes third and fourth party info what is the point?

It's lost on me.
