The real story is that yes the 1st night one of the runs was 6.85 @ 113, but later that night
the bike went 6.60 but was very hard to keep the front end down. The next night
Thrusday night we went back out with a strap off the old 12 and ran a 6.43 @ 116.53.
My son rides the bike he is 180 lbs he had trouble getting 3rd gear since this bike
will run 110 in 2nd gear, the e.t. was not hurt much @ a 6.44 @ 106.
Best 2 3.30 and 6.60 together was 6.37 @ 117.22. The best 3.30 mile hr 89.53.
Only the 2nd night out I believe with a swing arm 64 inch, a pipe and a lower gear
this bike will run low 5.80 @ 122.
Very good for just a few runs ... Good job dropping them numbers ...I would put money on your son going 6.20s or better without the longer arm.... You got the MPH for 6. teens .. it's all in the 60 footer ... . Keep up the good work ....

Hey Smokin,

Like I told, we were sitting in the hamburger joint and we saw you drive by, we tossed the food and took off after you. You made my day , to see a paper tag on the back and headed for the drag strip.
Tell your boy we thought he did a good job and I have already told these cry babies I thought he did to. Hope to see ya'll out again, give us a call you have my number, glad to here strapping it down helped. I can see by your 60' it helped.
Pilgrim unless you live in Saint Petersburg FL you didn't see me or any of my boys drive by ... I haven't been in TX for 10 years ... But i will be moving back this Summer to Austin and then maybe we can hook up for a ride ...

Got worked up and said Smokin instead of Buddy, my mistake. If you are ever in Cowtown look me up. I started racing when I was 15 and IM 51 now, so needless to say I had my ass kicked some many times, 1 more won't hurt. Come to think of it, I have a good time getting beat, that's more fun than these keyboard racers any day.

Hey guys - I'm not getting into the drag racing argument, I've got no business there, but believe it or not I actually met Pilgrim Thursday afternoon at the local Yamaha shop before this whole mess started - and didn't even know it. He's a nice guy, we chatted for a few minutes and he told me about the 14 at Kennedale the night before. I'll probably go watch one day as I've never watched bikes drag, and this is the closest track so it's a fairly popular place.

Oh, and he's not 17

Kenneth - glad to hear the times are coming down as your son gets used to the bike. I'm sure they will continue to improve as he figures out this new beast.

Hey Zermatt,

Hope to see ya Sunday morning, and for any of you others with a fast keyboards your welcome too.

Here is some advise, don't put down all your so called great accomplishments after all of your posts, it make you look like you haven't done much, or your just a kid. Still board.

If the race Pilgram is talking about is the red 14 at kennedale, that was the first night out. He was out again last night and was running 6.48 at 116+. His second night out. It will get better.
