OTD prices for those of you that have the mythical ZX14?

My dealer is selling for $500 under MSRP, still don't know what the total is with all the other stuff that is thrown on at the end, with the added 6% tax. Seems fair given the hype, and it helps that this town is a large Suzuki fanbase.

I have seen some of you quote $11.2K, is that OTD with tax, doc fees, etc?

I paid $12,500 OTD (7.375% tax, $140 title) in California. Most dealers here are quoting $13,400 OTD.

Since taxes and DMV fees vary from state to state and even from county to county, OTD prices will vary. Some states may not have taxes on motorcycles which can lower OTD costs by $1,000 or more.

That's not bad. Even if there is a fee. I'm at 12,539 OTD with a centerstand and shop manual. I don't know what state your in but here in Florida they have to charge everyone the doc fee, (whatever that fee is) however in my case I just reduced the 11,499 the amount of those fees then add them back in at the end. Just a guess the 11.2K is including doc. fee, you are going to have to add tax & tag

Well, base price then for my dealer is $10,999 not including any of the other fees, taxes, plates. Not sure if he will stick by that price when his other orders get filled, but he already quoted that to me when I put my deposit down.

I think that the guys who paid close to MSRP, won't post their price.

BTW- I usually only get a few $$$ -MSRP on my bikes, never the KILLER deals on the 'hot' tickets.

I was just quoted $12k OTD by a dealership that's usually the cheapest in SoCal.

I want what you jokers are getting!

All about supply and demand. These bikes are really hot in NorCal right now. Dealers are really holding out for top dollar.

I got quoted $12k OTD from probably the same place, LA Cyclesports??? Problem is, you will never get the stock on a hot ticket like this. I got burned by a dealer that said they would match that price when I put down a deposit, then screwed me. I ended up for $500 under (plus tax, title, docs), but had to go through 5 dealers to find one that would even do that. One dealer I went to had 2 other people writing offers at the same time. The one I bought there was someone there haggling price just as I was closing.

In my opinion, posting the pricing is doing a dis-service to your dealer. Generally, the best customers get the best pricing. I am sure that my dealer would not appreciate it if I posted my price. I think the price he provided to me was based the fact that he knows that all accessories and service will be done at his dealership.

If you are not planning to buy product from your dealer down the road and treat the bike as a commodity, post your price - if you value the relationship that you have with your dealer, keep it to yourself.

I don't know if I buy that argument.

The dealers near me that charge MSRP also don't give any breaks on parts or accessories. They screw you both ways and expect you to enjoy it.

On the other hand, the dealers near me that give breaks on pricing post those prices right on the bikes... on a big red or yellow tag for the whole world to see. They generally discount 5-10% and are proud of that fact. Many of them also discount parts and accessories purchases, especially large specialty items.

If a dealer *wants* to build a relationship with a customer, he should go out of his way to give that customer great service and a fair price. Future business and purchases will come back as a result of that treatment. Pretty simple business pratice if you ask me... treat the customer well and he will return the favor - many times over.

In my area there seems to be two types of dealers. Some are like car dealers which have turd salesmen and slick sales pitches, and the other dealers are smaller more motorcyclist friendly establishments. I deal with the latter in which I believe I get personalized service and personalized pricing levels. (which I would never divuldge)

I am of the opinion that everyone needs to make money and feed their families, so I expect my dealer to have a healthy business if he is selling a sought-after product. I don't expect to grind the dealer to give me a price that is unreasonable. It is not always easy, but if you find a good dealer, treat them with respect and they will return the favour.

I'm OTD @ 12,500 the thing is I had one dealer that set a price @ 13,850 and i'm thinking just how much money does he want to make on this bike considering mfsrp is 11,499 and their invoice price is probably way less than mfsrp

That's nothing. I walked away from one because the dealer wanted $15,380 OTD. He told me it is a hot comodity and the summer is here.

I agree completely with that. The dealers near me that discount their prices are those "motorcycle guy" places with friendly sales people, and half of the time you are dealing with the GM or the owner himself. They are smaller and offer better service to go along with their better prices. They want everyone in the world to know that they are better and that they'll beat those other dealer's prices. They are in slightly smaller surrounding towns/cities and offer better service and prices to attract business from the "big cities". They have lower overhead and smaller showrooms, but move plenty of bikes.
