WHOOT!

I just got "the call". They got it in just a little while ago and wheeled it off the trailer and into the showroom. Of course, it's not blue, but I'll take the black and live with it. Bank is closed now and they close in 45, so it's too late to go get it tonight, but tomorrow I'll have pics of my new black beast! It's official, the Chicago area is getting 'em out the door.

Holy shit...

Wow.

Of course, a better ride report will be made after she's broken in properly, but "WOW" is as good a description as any. Tranny was a bit notchy to start the ride, but 30 miles later it's starting to smooth out and smooth is not the word. Butter smooth power delivery, not snappy like I'd expect, like the Hayabusas I've ridden have been, but then I'm also not bringing it up to hard boil yet either. I probably shouldn't have, but I just had to wind it out once, and before I knew it I'm pulling 110 in 2nd gear and she hasn't even gotten a good head of steam yet. Damn. Perhaps I should have made some mods to my stock XX suspension because I think I see what I've been missing. The suspension is also a little tight, but it soaked up bumps nicely and didn't feel as harsh as my XX suspension, considering neither is really dialed in for my 245 pound ass. Wind protection, belive it or not, isn't bad at all. I didn't feel ANY buffeting of my head when I cracked 110, but I COULD feel my arms stretching out, and I'm not sure it even needs a different windshield yet. The cockpit is TIGHT though, so putting farkles in is going to be a challenge. Under 5 grand she's tame as a pussycat, but as soon as the tach sweeps past 5 grand the wind roar picks up a bit and you feel your arms stretch and she'll run up the dial faster than you can say FUCK ME. She is WAY too quiet as well. Engine is quiet and vibe free and with those silencers on I don't get much feedback. I need to get some aftermarket cans on her QUICK! I can't wait until I get the 600 mile oil change done so I can amp it up a bit, but damn it's gonna be nasty.

Oh yeah...and I gotta figure out how to set the clock...LOL!

After 2 days and 140 miles, I continue to be amazed at this bike. The notchiness in the trans is gone and it's the smoothest shifting bike I've ridden yet, and I've ridden a few. I haven't even started scratching the surface of the power, but it comes on like a bullet and doesn't seem to want to stop. I'm sure there is a limiter there, but it feels like it would pull hard all the way there and still have some left over, plenty as a matter of fact. Very light handling, easy to manuver, and the suspension soaks up the bumps. I don't like whatever they did that makes it extra docile under 5K...I'd like to snap up the front a bit without having to run it up so far in revs. I can snap the front off the deck on my XX just between 3 and 4K. I should be able to do that on this bike too. Maybe once I've really learned her powerband. I'm loving it.
