What, you think you can attack one person and not hear anything from other guys here? My response was tongue-in-cheek to your pounding your chest telling fba off. It was accurate, and I stand behind it. I can poke fun all I want, and you can either suck it up and take it, or you can leave.

Up to you too...

Make sure I have this straight: I ask about mpg, and your buddy starts w/cussing and personal comments, but I'm on the attack?; In both of my responses to you directly, you failed to address the issue(s) at hand.; You do, however, go on about some false sense of heroism and comraderie. Very touching, but garbage. It was inaccurate, but one tends to see what they want to see. I'm aware of that, but I manage to back up my argument. You just want to run off at the mouth. And not very well, at that...

Pass me some popcorn, will ya'?

how's the ridin been for ya? Im enjoying the shit outta this puppy...I have had her pinned and redlined in 1st & 2nd (maybe 6th too but didn't look down) it's nuts this bike, just nuts I tell ya. I've taken the last 2 days off just to go out and break her in...after having the Busa for 2 years and thinking it was the most spectacular ride around, I stand corrected...14 takes that title now!
Unfortunately we've had about 2" of rain so far today, so riding wasn't much of an option. On the other hand, this weekend is going to be *perfect*, and I've got fresh oil and filter and just a tad under 700 miles on the odo...

Did anybody hear a noise? I think I heard something... but I then I didn't. Oh well...

Ok, MORON, time for a quick lesson or two:

First of all, learn how to quote somebody in this forum. That way they know you are responding to them and not just making a blanket statement they way you always do.

Second, what the fuck are you talking about? You said that you asked about mpg? YOU HAVE NEVER ASKED A QUESTION IN THIS ENTIRE FUCKING THREAD!!! You started participating in this thread by making observations about your actual fuel mileage just like everyone else with a 14 was doing. Great... fine... that's what we are all here for. Then you started harping about how your beloved Hayabusa got incredible gas mileage when you rode a bunch under 4k rpm. BIG DEAL. Fba calls out your 60mpg bullshit, and you post again about how you get 50mpg "on a number of occasions". Again, who gives a shit what your 'busa got for gas mileage? This isn't the LAB board you know.

Up to this point, I haven't even hardly noticed you posting in the thread. But I did respond to one of your comments (again, NOT a question) because we were talking about the ZX-14, not your FUCKING HAYABUSA THAT GETS 60 MPG.

Now (we're at the end of page one and the beginning of page 2 if you are trying to keep up), a few people razz you about your wonderful 'busa fuel mileage claims and you decide to get pissy about it and go away for a day. Later that evening when you can get back to the 7-11 rental internet computer, you post up about how everyone should be "careful" and not to "ask anything practical" when you have yet to EVER ASK A FUCKING QUESTION IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! At the end of that comment, you tell everyone here that you "think you're done here" and there is a collective sigh of relief as we all think that you have given up on this site and decided to move on.

But, alas, you don't. You persist to piss and moan, and stir things up that you have no business talking about. You get pissy about with fba and he starts giving you shit right back (rightfully so). Oh, and so you don't have to re-type your scolding of fba and the membership of this forum, I've saved you the trouble and pasted it here for you:

quote:
While I appreicate the websight, you're still not listening...or thinking: 1) Again, for you, I HAVE my bike; 2) I'm averaging 38.7 during the first 143 miles of break-in; 3) I have not yet cried; 4) I'm quite the reasonable, mature adult; 5) I'm only full of crap right before I really, really have to hit the head; 6) "Feather the throttle," and driving like that mature adult preiously mentioned, are two very different things; and 7) Last, but not least, you have not begun to offend me. I assure you, you don't have what it takes to offend me. You'll have to try much harder than that, my son. Keep working.

You're the one bothered. Very easy to see/hear the anger and frustration in your entries. Cursing, and all. Go back and read 'em. Undeniable. It's really not worth my time to respond, except for the fact that I just think you deserve it. And it's working like a charm. You just can't let it go, can you?

You started, I get to finish...BTW, Excepting the flat spot between 3200-4000 rpm, the torque below 5K is acceptable and smooth, if not what it should be. I haven't noted any heat problems at all in 75 degree, GA weather. Handling is better than my 'Busa, as is acceleration. Wind protection is not bad, but not what it should be, IMO. Generally, I'm quite satisfied. My attempt at civility...Carry on, my man.
So, if you're truly done here as you have stated in the past, please move on. There's nothing else to see here. If you are the moron that I know you are, I am sure that you will post up again with more useless scolding and babble about how you are not angry and never will be. We all know that you are never offended... oh, but wait...

quote:
Geez! Not much tolerance for some folks having their own opinion, are we? I was making an evaluation/comparison for my own decision-making process. I wasn't trashing the bike or anyone else. Get off it, already!
That sure doesn't sound like someone who was offended to me, how about everyone else? Does cls sound offended here? I'm sure he's not, because he says that we don't have what it takes to offend him.

Unless you are a man of your word and are truly "done" here, I am ready for your next sortie. Give it your best...

I dunno. My wife likes country and they mailed us a letter a couple of weeks ago telling us about a new channel 17, but when I tried, it didn't work yet. I think it does now... but I haven't driven her car that much since I got this new bike.

Oh, have I mentioned that I'm only getting 32.9mpg so far? I think it will improve over time.

About listening to XM online... my Media Center PC has an "ok" XM interface that makes it easy to pump XM through my home stereo all day long, but it stops playing every couple of hours to confirm that you are still listening. I guess they don't want to waste bandwidth on bums who left their PC tuned in, but walked away and aren't paying attention anymore.

I'll forego the quote, since I don't know how to do it right. Computers aren't my thing...

Zermatt,

When you have a lesson or two to teach me, please let me know. I'm a ready student. The only thing I'll give you is: I did not ask a question. It was a comment and a request for more info. on mpg. A petty technicality, but, ok. It was not a question.

After that your story falls apart. The quotes are right (Kudos to you in your infinite computer knowledge.),but you don't reckon intent, provocation, desired recipient, etc. matter? It doesn't work that way in a court of law, and it doesn't work that way in debate. Not a bad stab at a reasonable argument, though. At least you took some steps to make it look good.

My first "challenge" post was not even directed to FBA, yet he responded w/the aforementioned cursing and personal attacks. Uncalled for and dumb. While not at all offended, I thought it was worth a response. There is a difference between "being offended", and noting an obvious attack. One does not have to be personally offended to stand for right. I do it every day. From there, it was every man for himself. Until you jumped in w/him. A little cheesy, but fine.

I was done, pending his dropping it. Just like I said. If you're going to quote things and attempt to make an argument, you may want to be relatively inclusive, and take the "totality of the circumstances" into account. Picking and choosing when you quote things is, and has been, a long-time trick of those who regularly deal in shady journalism, reporting, debating, politics, etc. It looks good to someone not able to think, though. Like I say, at least you gave it a fairly noble attempt. I can appreciate that. Sort of...

You'll also note, FBA and I had come to a somewhat congenial closing after all was said and done. Then, you fired up. That's cool, but you gotta' note, WE were done. This is all you, baby!

As for the 'Busa quotes, it was brought up earlier in the thread by at least one other guy. It's an obvious comparison to the 14, so I included some info. Furthermore, I was told something to the effect of, "Heavy weight + high hp = low gas mileage." I was counter-pointing that argument. Hmmm, seemed logical...Maybe, that's because it was! Just like everything else. If you bother to look at the whole picture...

Besides that, I'm beginning to fight the "group dynamic" here. Being the outsider, of sorts, others, such as wormhole (Who are too sad to stand on their own), are starting to jump in. Fact and logic are becoming less and less prevalent, amongst them. Now, while I like my fun, and fighting for good, I do have my limits to time consumption (Hard to believe, I know.), especially when the rules of the game make the result lose all meaning. That's just a waste, and that's where we're headed. So...

Let's try it again. I'm ready to move on, if the battle is over. We're just going on male stubborness/pride now. Not terribly productive, but kinda' fun. Getting rather time-consuming, though. W/the bike in, I have much more riding to do. I hope you do, as well.

So, for yet another attempt at the positive, see your "Mileage/Reserve/Whatever it was" thread. I made a positive, friendly correction that will be of use. Shall we move on from there? New life?

Hopefully, get in at least 150 more today. I wanted to have at least 600 by Monday. Get that break-in thing over w/. May still make it...
