No kidding.

Oh, and speaking of fuel lights... have you guys seen what this bike does when it's low on fuel! Holy crap... it's a little annoying...

No doubt!! You can't even clear it to look at the trip meter and see where you're at on miles.
Will look at owners manual for a possible fix to clear. If you cant it's like having your mom tell you to clean up your room. I go on the "light" and it takes 4.7 gals @ 151 mi.
Hey Zermatt Ya think the Speedo is a little optimistic?? I'm going to check it against my GPS and see.

If its like the 10R, you have to hit the mode button to clear, not sure yet what that is on the 14.

Shit, the only reason I was getting a '14 was to save gas. Now I hear the mileage is worse than my wife's 50cc Yamaha Vino scooter? Why won't it get as good as gas mileage as as 4 1/2 horsepower scooter?

Now THAT'S funny....

So if you refill when the light comes on and that gets you to 151 miles (approx) adding 4.7 gal of fuel, then there must be what.....1.1 gal remaining? Well, so least regarding what the specs say of a 5.8 gal tank. Of course your bike isn't really broken in just yet, and you don't say what type of riding you've been doing, but one can only assume that this bike should get 185 -200 miles per tank depending on riding style; what say you? 151 miles devided by 4.7 gal is still 32 mpg. Let's hope it gets better with further break in.

Anything around 165 - 175 miles per tank (5.3 gal used, w/ 0.5 gal remaining) is acceptable to me.

Just still waiting for the bikes to hiy MT.....but glad to see someone riding already!

Phil

Careful. Don't ask anything practical or possibly questionable/negative about the bike. You'll be labeled a baby and a troublemaker. Please!...Some of us use our bikes for more than "penis extenders." Wait...That was thoughtless. I apologize. Perhaps if I needed one, I'd take it too personally, also.

I think I'm done here. Carry on, gentlemen. To whomever it may apply...

Your cursing goes hand-in-hand w/the whole topic. Most fitting and impressive. Get more big bikes. Maybe that'll help.

"Let it lie?" Who started the whole crap because I was asking some legit. questions? So, if I understand, either be interested in what you're interested in, or "Let it lie..." The brainpower is mind boggling!

CLS...this shit's been beatin to fuckin death already...if ya can't pay for the gas and shut the fuck up about it, by a fucking lawnmower. Yer a whinny assed bitch...no one who has this bike now really gives a flying fuck about the fucking gas mileage...buy yerself a Vespa and go to the Vespa boards...then you can cry all ya want there...this has nothing to do with brainpower either, because if it did, you'd certainly lose. stop yer whinin and go buy a fuel efficient Vespa. So you know and I have said this here before,,,this bike is all about performance and comfort during performance ...not GAS MILEAGE...what the fuck do you expect from a 200 hp high compression machine like this? It isn't even a consideration with someone who has a brain -- dude...go boggle yer mind now.

Just been out riding. It was way too much fun at twice the price$$ I could care less about the MPG of this bike. It still does way better than my Diesel Ford F250 4x4 so it will be my commuter bike or maybe my wife's SV650 for cornering fun at 45-50 MPG. Anyway you boys play nice and go out for a ride

I was close enough to the 600 mile mark on my way home tonight, and happened to come home "the long way", so I ended up on one of my favorite straight strips of pavement with light/no traffic. I opened her up to an indicated 175 before I backed off... Damn this thing PULLS!!!

I thought Brock, Muzzy and just about everyone else said the bikes are setup pig rich so the mileage is not going to be what everyone is expecting until you put a commander on them and retune them, you would think the mileage will get a lot better after you lean them down in the 2,000 to 4,000 rpm range along with the lowend torque.

Yup...the only reason I got it was to be ble to hit 200MPH...so if that don't happen, I'm gonna sell it -- NOT...I could give 2 shits about the top speed...since NO ONE ACTUALLY LIVES THERE. I bought it to ride.

I bought this bike for the everyday situations that require me to go 190 mph and 186 just won't get the job done. Since this bike clearly doesn't meet my 190 mph needs, perhaps I would have been better off with a Harley.

Back to reality, this is a truly amazing motorcycle. The power is great. A much better bike than my 2K ZX-12R.

I bought this bike strictly as a penis extension even though I'd been advised that 9" was already long enough.

If the heat is bugging you, you are going to slow. The discussion on mpg should be MPT (tire)..............................

Get a moped if you are concerned about gas mileage. besides, if you are getting 33 or better mpg, then its either being babied or one is on board..................................

I want to here about the guy who is getting 18 mpg on the 14! :-)

You are incorrect, yet, again. I HAVE the bike, and I am concerned. Whining and making mention of something of interest to one's self are two entirely different things. Furthermore, I pointed out another bike that is high hp, heavy, and still gave good gas mileage, so it's not moot or unreasonable to be considered. Your rudeness, inaccuracy, and arrogance are truly sad.

Now, if you want it to die, move on. I'm more than willing. You took first shot, I get last. Isn't this fun? Just like kids...

Your effectiveness is ever decreasing as you get more and more out of control. Not much maturity and discipline for one riding such a serious bike. It concerns me. Be careful on your bike.

And, that' not letting it go. That's perpetuating it. A difference, you see?
