Much better than my Magnum. That HEMI is a thirsty bitch. I am well happy if I can get 18mpg in that.

Played with the instant MPG feature and saw 35 mpg @ 100 mph today. Dont know for sure how accurate it is but I could live with that. Want better mpg?? Buy a Vespa

Geez! Not much tolerance for some folks having their own opinion, are we? I was making an evaluation/comparison for my own decision-making process. I wasn't trashing the bike or anyone else. Get off it, already!

I'm sure I will get better mileage than most, 'cause that's the way I ride most of the time. I expect at least high 30's from a GT bike, when ridden w/sanity amongst the public roads. I already have a 250 and a 650 Ninja for great gas mileage and simple fun. I trust it's ok w/you guys if I want decent mileage from a big-bore street bike... Get over yourselves.

Must be grumpy from the wait for your ZX...

I suspect I'll see low 40's for an average. That'll do.

Dude, bikes like this are NOT about mileage; they are all about performance 1st and comfort 2nd. Fortunately, from what I am hearing, they score high on both, however, I'm sure you'll see high 30's low 40's on it, especially at 4K average. :d

Holy fuck!! Why the hell did this turn into people bashing gas mileage thread??? Nobody WITH a bike has complained about gas mileage, they have only pointed out what they are getting in real-life. So everyone can just quit with the complaining about mileage as far as I'm concerned.

As for realistic expectations, I am quite confident that we will see in the upper 30's if not low 40's for casual riding. There's absolutely no reason to expect otherwise. The mileage computer on the bike confirms it - you just have to be "nice" to it.

However, since those people with bikes (myself included) are doing a "break in", we are varying RPM's a lot, doing hard accelerations in high gear, slowing down, then speeding up again. That is NOT good for fuel mileage, and once I stop riding that way, I'm sure my mileage will increase. The first oil change won't hurt either...

LOL! You got that right. I'll take 30 mpg ANY day over my current 16 mpg commuting to work in my RT, and that's being NICE. If I tromp on it, I'm looking at low teens, maybe even 12! That's why I'm riding as much as I can...it DOES save me money daily even if it cost me a bit more to start with.

Ah, the insistent combination of ignorance and arrogance. Were I not exposed to it daily, it would truly boggle the mind. Don't bother actually reading and thinking, just take from it what you will. You obviously have.

What nonsense is this about mpg...the bike converts fuel into speed. If the fuel light flashes then stop, refuel and repeat.

Fuck.

Hahahah

When you get in the neighborhood of 40 miles range, the top 3/4 of the display (not the odo or clock) starts flashing a HUGE image of a gas pump, and it says "FUEL EMPTY" in great big letters.

It's quite annoying and makes it difficult to keep track of how many miles you *really* have until you run out of gas.

Sure gets your attention though

LOL well I guess I'll learn to live with that. With a bike that powerful, she's liable to gobble down the gas if you get to happy with the go-grip, wouldn't want to drain those last few ounces dusting some fool only to be left stranded with no petrol LOL!

Oh yea.
I'm guessing that the range is not that accurate. Once My Buick left me stranded saying it had 25 miles left. You see a hot day will screw this device, a little CYA on Kawasai's part.
