I feel sorry for all you guys! I know what it feels like to want something so bad you can almost taste it . . . too many times I'm afraid. I've decided to wait for the next incarnation of the ZX-14 or at least the next model year. I think my wife would have kittens if I brought the local bike population up to 7, time to send some toys down the road first. I'll continue to monitor your plight as this is a fun site with a LOT of fun and warped personalities.

All the best,

Stuart

I use to be completely normal - not warped at all..........................until Kawaski decided to get 'cute' on the delivery of the '14.
They won't even level with their own dealers (letter of last week), so it seems a conspiracy of silence as to what the hold up on the '14's is.
I am starting to think of waiting until next year to make sure the '14 is properly sorted. There may be other options, possibly the new 'Busa.
No big deal I guess, I have other toys to get me through this summer......................maybe I'll golf more this year......................

I've got a demo booked on a K1200S on May 5th. I demoed one last year as well. I agree they are a great bike. I was much more impressed than I thought I would be. They have a great induction and exhaust sound at higher rev's. Cost in Canada is a steep $22,500 for the base one, so it is a big jump in price from a ZX-14, which is around$14,000 here.
Still, they are available locally................like today, not next week, month................

Shoot me a pm, I'd like to here more about your early experiences on the K1200S

I rode a K1200s today for a good amount of time.. I do like the bike... It handles very well.. I like the active suspension and brakes are great. ABS stops on a dime.. Very smooth engine. However does not power wheelie in first gear at all and want even wheelie cresting a hill.. It felt very weird once I laid it all the way over in a corner.. I don't know what the problem was but something was going on that I wasn't use too.. Besides those 2 issues I love the bike... Almost bought it.. But I'm a horespower freek and don't think I could live with it.. You can't regear it and there is little aftermarket for it and not even a way to map the fuel injection as of yet..

Not lies people...called my dealer today, bikes are in Montreal warehouse tomorrow and in my dealers/my hands Thursday/Friday this week -- keep y'all posted as it happens! BTW Zrexer, many people I know have the badass K1200S and I've ridden her for at least 1000 miles or more...it is one sick fucking bike; brakes like an R1, flies like a Busa...handles like any 600 and if you dont mind spending the coin....its a hell of a beast,.,,and way more comfortable than a Busa or a 12R/14...you'll be blown away on the demo ride, but if it's braggin rights ya want, then stick to a 14. I'd buy one, but it's them damn braggin rights I want...don't give a fuck if I can't pull 8's and 9's on the track, just wanna have a bike that can! Drowland -- true it wont power wheelie, but ya bounce her up in 1st...no sweat. New FI software available in the US from BWM to correct the clunking tranny issues now...
